It is among the few public schools in Maine to receive a distinguished GreatSchools Rating of 9 out of 10. MEA scores are very high compared with the rest of the state, or compared with other schools the Bangor area. It is has a very small student enrollment, but it has beautiful new grounds and building. High School students get to choose their own high school, many choose to attend Orono, John Bapst, or Bangor. The school system is one of the best parts of living in Veazie!
I used to work there and have fond memories of the staff and the facilities there.
I have a first grader at Veazie Community School. Teachers are very caring & attentive. Great rec. program. Everyone goes above & beyond.
Children appear to score well above average on MEA's. Teacher-student ratio seems good. Fabulous community involvement with school.
