Dedicated teachers, principal of the year, strong focus on literacy, some creative curriculum by teachers, strong volunteer support for parents and community members with Americorps.

My son went from this school, on to Junior High, where he excelled in the Gifted and Talented Program. He won numerous awards, including the President's Excellence in Education Award. He is now at the High School in Honors and GT classes. I credit the fine teachers of this school. They went above the call of duty to ensure that he remained challenged. The Librarian recognized that his reading level was above what their library offered and personally walked him to the nearby High School library to sign out books. This faculty genuinely cares about and is involved in each student's success. I am amazed by this low score!

Canal school was wonderful. The teachers the principals were all easy to work with and most respectful and understanding to me as a parent and our freedom to choose.
