St. Dominic was the best school I ever went to. I started in Kindergarten but instead of finishing till 8th Grade I had to change schools for one year. IHM was great but St. Dominic was way better. It never mattered how much money we had or how many kids were in our class we all found away to get along we were like a family. So when the Archdiocese shut us down to make it
St. Dominic was a fantastic elementary school. Yet, in 2005 it was closed by the Archdiocese and students merged with two other schools offsite, even though the student population was larger. Sadly, closure seems to display the Archdioses of Baltimore's on-going, lack of concern and committment with providing affordable places of education in urban Baltimore for children of Catholic families. A young Catholic family with children of school age does not have the option of affordable, non-public, education with chidren from a Catholic faith background for their kids. The end result, young Catholic familes move out of urban Baltimore.
