I had the pleasure of working with JEH over this past year at MICA. From painting murals, volunteering at the food day festival in the fall, and face painting in the spring, I was constantly overwhelmed by the amount of joy that circulates through the building. The faculty is dedicated and caring, the students are fantastic to work with, and I have always left in a better mood than when I came. It is great to be involved with a place as welcoming as John Eager Howard and I can't wait to see how the school develops in the future! Go Beavers!
Over the past two years, this school has gone through some tough changes. Because of this, the climate is not good at all. Classroom management is a big problem in grades 1 and 2. I really hope this is corrected for next school year. With this being said, there are some great teachers there like Mrs. McNeil ( pre-k) and Ms. Lawrence (k) that really care about the children and are excellent educators.
John Eager Howard Elementary School is one of the best Elementary Schools in the city. The principal truly cares abouts the children and school, the teachers care also. The school offers additional services through the Judy Center for the younger children in need of additional services. The building is always bright and cheerful and displays of the children work are changed on a regular basis. The children are well behaved and respectful of the teachers and the teachers are respectful of the children and parents. What a great school.
