As a parent of a student in the first graduating class, this school has been the backbone and inspiration of its youth. The quality of teaching and leadership is outstanding compared with other schools. This is the school for parents and young people who put education first.

Our school has small class sizes and a small student to teacher ratio. We have very few discipline problems because our students are committed to their education and we have a high level of parent involvement. Our staff is state certified and go above and beyond to meet the needs of every student. We have a 98% graduation rate and 100% college admission. Our school is a great school and the best I have worked in during my five years of teaching.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Maryland used the Maryland High School Assessments (HSA) to test students in English 2, Algebra, and Biology upon completion of each course. The HSA is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Maryland. Students are required to pass the tests in order to graduate. The goal is for all students to pass the tests.
