Very disapponited in this school. The office should really be more knowledgeable about how the cafeteria operates. I just registered my kids and they did not start for a week. For one, my youngest is a first grader and was enrolled in a second grade class. The teachers were not made aware they were even recieving new students. I asked about free lunch if it would transfer they say yes. I take the kids, they say no so meanwhile in that week the lunch app could have been approved. Then I ask if they have they option to put it on an account so they call the cafeteria and find out that they get it for two weeks. So my question is, do they never get new students so they dont know how to prepare? or are the staff just that non pro active to take the initiative to find out answers to questions that I feel they should know. I wish I didnt work because I would definately volunteer and show them a thing or two about office management. I can't rate the teachers yet except that the 1st grade teachers were very knowledgable and the fourth grade teacher did not want to be bothered with a new student.

My daughter attended Guolford for two years . There are teachers there that do have a true interested in your chldren and try to offer as much help as possiblt. However ,I had an issue with students with behavorial issues and academic issues being mixed in with the other students. It caused my daughter to be in an enviornment that was chaotic and rather unproductive. There were not many extracurricular activities , no foreign languages, as well as parent involvement was not good at all.
The academic programs could be better. School does not offer foreign languages. There is no playground equipment. The sports program is limited to basketball and that is an extracurricular activity. There are no extracurricular activities other than basketball. I see very little parent involvement. The school just got a music teacher. The students do not have instruments. Children who misbehave at other schools are transferred to Guilford. Classes are integrated with children who can concentrate and work with children who are disrupted and misbehave.
