This school was in terrible shape 6 years ago...then a whole new administration came in and turned the school around...However in the past two years that administration left one at a time...now the Principal at that school has NO control over anything in the school...grades and performance are dropping and my childs safety has been at hand several times and the administration continues to do nothing except play it off as if its not a big deal..now at the vp that had some control is leaving again...this tells you alot when there is much turn over..plus last year over 4 teachers left the school.....

Our son started pre-K at Harford Hills this year. We have been thrilled with the amount of family involvement the school has offered. We think the school is an excellent match for him. His teacher and the administration have been respnosive and helpful.

As a parent who has written a review for this website, I feel compelled to write an update to what has happened in our school. My last review was not flattering. What a change in Leadership makes! Bravo to the principal and her faculty and staff! The newly implemented learning programs, are already reaping positive results. One of those results lives in my house. We are stunned with how fast our child's reading and math skills have increased (above grade level!) with the new math/reading intervention program which was put into action just this year. Our Reading Specialist is Phenomenal! The Art/Music teachers are excpetional and the rest of the support staff is fabulous, too. The classroom teachers work with every child. During Amer. Ed. Week, I observed several classes and witnessed kids excited about learning and teachers excited for their kids. Our teachers are the best! Well done Balt. County!

I have several issues with this school. My family comes from another county where the school was stellar when it came to parent involvement. And Harford Hills makes me wish I'd never left the other school. You truly get a sense of 'us against them' at this school. I've had to fight for several issues to be resolved in the past few years and I dont see it changing anytime soon. I've heard several complaints, as well as had my own bad experiences, from the school's secretary. She seems very eager to get you off the phone and doesn't seem interested in assisting you with much of anything. It's unfortunate that this problem exists in what is supposed to be a 'top school'.

I have two children at the school and am very happy. The teachers have been attentive and caring and the administration has always been responsive. The principal is a star.

Harford Hills like many schools in Balt Co is having a discipline crisis. Staff is unwilling or unable to do anything. Classroom instruction is suffering and the general morale in the school is suffering. As a parent who volunteers more than once a week I see the quality of our children's education deteriorating. Parents struggle to fill the void but its a loosing battle as they must battle an unresponsive principal as well. The few parents who are able dedicate time to volunteering are slowly being pushed away. It is a sad place.
