Profile Completeness

BASIC

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

As a teacher at this school during the 2012-2013 school year, I can safely say that nothing has changed based on the other reviews that I have read. The current principal is surplus-happy; constantly changing, threatening, and removing teachers in hopes of getting some kind of better results and keeping her job. Support staff is minimal and the class sizes posted on Greatschools are laughable -- 16 students per teacher? I had 3 classes with upwards of 27 students in each and they continued to add more. The school is a FOR-PROFIT charter school meaning that BCPSS is paying them for each student they keep on the rolls. Therefore, disciplinary actions resulting in suspension are rare. FAET works very hard to keep things internal and not let them escalate to North Ave. admin, which results in a potentially unsafe learning environment for students and teachers. Issues that would result in expulsion in many districts (weapons violations, for example) result in short suspensions and a speedy return to class.

This is the worst school in the BCPSS. Someone need to take a vested interest in the activities conducted within that building. The principal & assistant principal are the most unprofessional individuals I have encountered. I thought a principal was to lead by example, not use all types of profanity when addressing our kids! The only person, Ms. Wheeler, that genuinely cared about our childrens' education was dismissed. Nolan is a major factor, in my opinion, for an abundance of the issues in this school. Our children aren't learning anything here! They will leave FAET with less intellect than when they arrived because they manipulate grading in order to push selected individuals through without truly teaching them anything. For this reason, most parents will find themselves having to spend their child's first semester or more paying for remedial classes. FAET has failed to prepare our children for their next level in life, college! Most will only be accepted into Community Colleges. It is sad that this place can even be called a scool. It is an insult & discredit to all honorable learning environments that put a true emphasis on education.

PERSONALLY I DID NOT THINK THAT MIDDLE SCHOOL KIDS SHOULD BE ATTENDING THE SAME SCHOOLS AS HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS . MY CHILD HAS ATTENDED THIS SCHOOL FROM THE VERY BEGINING AND IT IS NOT WHAT I THOUGHT I WOULD BE. THE PROBLEMS WERE BEFORE MS WHEELER.

This school is terrible, the kids are out of control. The principle is hardly seen and seems to never be involved as a priciple should be. The vice principles are the ones that are constantly handling issues and the students. My child has been here for 3 years and I am trying to transfer her. For this to be a charter school is a joke, my child could have gone to her zone school

Faet is a work in progress. My child has attended Faet for 3 years. I have seen major strides in academics, structure, and teachers. Mrs. Wheeler is a strong leader that can help Faet become one of the best middle and high schools in the state of Maryland.

A school is only as strong as the Principle! If the Principle continue to let kids get away with everything, you will have disruptive kids.

It is an ok school. But the school is not ready for the children to show up.
