I went to this school about 4 years ago, and I'm sure it hasn't changed much. Bullying is the schools biggest problem. I don't know what can be done because most of the problems are due to the area the school is in. Most of the teachers have truely given up, and don't seem to care about the students, but there are some that do try (I'm thinking of my old art teacher.) I'm sure the teachers would teach better if some of the kids came from better backgrounds ... it's not like they spent 4 years in college for no reason. Something needs to done to fix this school. All the GT program does is classify which students 'can' go to college, and which students shouldn't bother.

I attended Stemmers for the years of 1999-2001. I truley hated that school! The teacher's don't care. The student's are wild. The school is a mess. I'm just glad I was able to get out of there. - Ashley Bartlett

My Daughter attends this school and I worry about her everyday. The Teachers and administration are unorganized and have little interest in the childrens education. The building itself is old and rundown. Lockers are rusted and windows are broked. The water is always brown and safe to drink. Bathroom stalls are thilthy and doors leave toilets exposed. This is only some of the problems we have encountered. Violence and lack of respect are all over. Think long and hard before sending your child here. Take a moment to walk the halls and you will see for yourself.

My child goes to Stemmers and so far it has been wonderful, except for the bullies. My daughter is in 6th grade all GT and is constantly picked on for being a 'nerd'. Some one must stop this before someone gets hurt!

I attended Stemmers for all 3 years and I would like to say that it was the worst experience I have ever encountered.

I have a son that attends this school, and it always seems to be chaotic, and unorganized with a total lack of communication between teachers parents and administration. The Teachers are so busy correcting behavior, they cant possibly have time to teach. Its a complete distraction to attend this school.I dont understand how any of the children learn.

My son went to this school and it was not a good thing. The teachers seem to put very little effort in to the students and children run wild.

I have had 4 children attend this middle school. The 2 oldest were actually bussed there many years ago for the gifted and talented (magnet) program. I find that there are very few teachers who take personal interest in the student and their needs or disabilites. I find the administration to be very unorganized and unsettling. My children have gone onto better schools and graduated with honors from college after deciding that there is a better form of education other than that of Stemmers Run.
