My daughter is in kindergarten this year and so far I loved Church Creek. Her teacher is fabulous. The staff seems very welcoming and supportive of all the students. We have enjoyed all the Family Fun Nights.

I strongly disagree with most of the negative comments made regarding Chruch Creek Elementary School. When compared to some of the other "great schools" in the harford county school district, church creek does well with their academic scores. The teachers are warm, caring, and have a personal interest in your childs academic and emotional well being. I've had no negative experiences since my child started attending the school in 2008. My child is an honor student and has consistently done well! Honestly parents need to be more actively involved in their child's education, it is not just the teacher or the priniciples responsiblility. If we are not going to be part of the solution to make things "supposedly" better (I think they are doing a great job), lets not be a part of the problem. Great job students, teachers, staff, and principle; Chruch Creek Elementary Rocks!

I would just like to express my appreciation for how Everyone handled a mishap at Church Creek. I forgot about the earl dismissal. Even though it was only a 10-15 min stretch it felt like hours.. A lot can happen in that length of time. My daughter told the Parents that saw her standing out there.. that she cannot leave with any strangers, so the parent called the school and stood there and waited with her, until a family member arrived. The school called me immediately and gave me the parents number. I hear some of the comments that people are making about the fundraisers and things but I must say, change is hard.. It s not necessarily bad..it may take time for people to see Mrs. Spence s vision..However with this being my first year sending a child to Church Creek I am very pleased. Mostly because of the focus they put on safety. Secondly because of the staff..including my daughters Teach Mrs. Greig who is a Heaven sent.

Church Creek is a good school, but I have a big problem with all the fundrasier that they do they have atleast 2 a week. For parents that work or don't work it is alot to do. I feel there are other ways to rasie money without having the parents go in there pocket almost every week.

As the parents before me I feel the same way about the new principal. She took away so many programs and extras (Dance). My daughter goes to 4th grade and was really looking forward to make the Honor roll, which she did. But the principal decided there will be no Honor roll this year. She was heartbroken and cried. The teachers are great, really wonderful. Before I would give the school 5 stars, the new principal took two. I understand that sometimes with new staff comes change, but listen to your PTA and parents, they have been at the school longer......

I would love to explain to Mrs Spence that while we want to be invovlved in our students education we need her to also understand we MUST also work for a living and she needs to be receptive to that. I love the teachers at Church Creek and I hate the new changes! We as parents do not feel welcome there!

I second that comment about the new principal my son is in the 5th grade and my younger son in 1st grade and I agree totally about the new principal she does not embrace the culture at Church Creek at all. This year my son would have been a double distinguished patriot. Perhaps she should have taken time with the PTA and the community before coming here. This school is spectacular but I think bringing her here was not wise decision. Perhaps we should have a meeting about this before Church Creek winds up like the rest of the schools. The teachers, the staff, the academics, the PTA all are outstanding... we all deserve better.

The teachers at Church Creek are very caring and hardworking professionals. The principal has changed this year. Unfortunately, I cannot provide a positive review of her performance. She has difficulty working with the PTA and other members of the local community. The situation has become so dire that many of us are meeting with county leadership to request change. Most of the PTA board members are resigning. Visitors are not welcome in the school. The principal did away with a school dance, Patriot Program, and Honors Assembly, all without consulting the community. If you don't have an appointment, you will be turned away. Want to deliver a project to your child's room? Nope. You must leave it at the office. Your child will receive a good education at Church Creek. Unfortunately, this may be in spite of the leadership of the school. The teachers are great, but we deserve better

I have to say, the more involved your are the better you realize what its like to walk in there shoes. They really care, yes they are busy so you should be too. I have 2 boys 1 special needs, they met every step of the way with what he needs, and have worked very hard to keep him going and stimulated. To not have to get a doctors notes to get extra help for my son is great, this school has everything we need. Yes we have had our ups and downs, but every shcool has them. So I say send your kid here, we have been here 2 years and sadly have to move. I just wish the schools were rated better.
