If you want your child to feel successful, truly known, and cared for, Norwood is the school for you. I have had several children attend Norwood, all with different personalities, interests, and learning styles. Each one has "graduated" from eighth grade with great self-worth, compassion for others, the confidence to try new things, and very well prepared for the academic rigor and challenges of high school. All academic subjects, music, art, theater, and athletics have an equal place at the table, so every student can find his or her passion and really soar.

Norwood has some great things going for it. There are few campuses that rival it for physical beauty. Additionally, Norwood's educational technology program is one of the tops among area private schools. Yet, a lot about Norwood could be better. Differences in opinion about the vision for the school have been festering among long-time faculty, the board, and the administration for at least 10 years. At times these differences lead to hostilities within the Norwood community. The faculty also feel burnt-out and unheard by the administration. The level of exhaustion experienced by the faculty has begun to impact instruction and faculty-family relations. Norwood will also gladly accept for admission children with learning differences. Yet, few faculty are specifically trained to work with such children. Indeed, some teachers have not changed their teaching methods in decades. In short, Norwood is no longer worth the very high tuition.

This is school is truly a gem. Truly professional staff for my child to look up to and admire. Lots of opportunity for creativity. Music is wonderful, with talented teachers. Art instruction by great artists. PE teachers know their stuff. Can't think of any negatives.

There are not only great academics and teachers at Norwood but also a wonderful community. With the smaller class size there is the oppurtunity for everyone to meet everyone. There are also plenty of athletic and extracurricular activities such as band, chorus, yearbook, newspaper, and many more. Norwood is really a great school!

We have been part of this school community for over 5 years. It is a wonderful school. The teachers are good, but it is the overall philosophy and spirit of the school that really makes it a most successful school! Learning is joyful at Norwood.

I went to Norwood for 4 years and it is one of the best schools in the area. Everyone gets a laptop in middle school and each teacher makes sure he incorporates it in his curriculum. The teachers themselves are outstanding; each is caring and respectful. This school has the perfect balance of athletics and academics. The students are required to do community service in the middle school which is a wonderful opportunity for the students.
