These reviews are bogus. Paint Branch is a substandard school with substandard staff and substandard administration. It is a cestpool. Do your research; read the performance measures for the county and see where Paint Branch falls in the ratings. You don't have to listen to me; read for yourself.
Paint Branch High School has got to be one of THE BEST if not THE BEST high schools in the Montgomery county area. The staff there, and the environment there is such a loving, warm, and challenging environment; the teachers and staff care very deeply about their students, almost like their own kids. There are also several programs in place in Paint Branch such as; The Medical Careers Program, where students get real life experience and gain knowledge about the hospital, and medical careers, there's TV production/media, there's Academy of Finance where kids learn about money management and more, and the list goes on. It's also highly diverse, and offers numerous extracurricular activities. Although it's great (almost a 5), I think some improvements can still be made, but having graduated there, I only see greatness and potential in this warm, nurturing environment.
I loved reading the Whitman HS parents' reviews... they paid a 'premium' to live in Whitman's district to send their kids there. Paint Branch is a great school with real-world experiences, like interacting daily with students and teachers from all over the world. The academics and athletics are competitive, the staff is committed and caring (many are PBHS graduates themselves), and the community/school spirit cannot be matched... that's why kids come to Open House and choose PB over Springbrook and Blake. You feel welcome, you know you're getting a great education, and you go off to college well-rounded and confident. Nice job PB!
I agree with the other parents - Paint Branch is a GREAT SCHOOL. My son is a freshman there and loves it, as do his father and I. The open house last fall sold us and he is in the Physics 9 program. The signature program there is great and offers such opportunities. The freshman houses make the transition from middle school much easier. I can't say enough about the school.
It's a great school and I really enjoy being here. It has great programs. I am enrolled in one, the Medical Careers program. Anyone wishing to go into a science or media related field, definitley come. Everyone is welcome.
Im a freshmen this year (2008) This school is pretty good! So far I love it! The people are pretty awesome and the teachers are really cool!
Paint Branch is being renovated in 2010-2011 and will be the newest and greatest high school in the MCPS system to date. It's a green school as well, meeting LEED standards. Don't let Blake fool you, PBHS has better quality teachers and students, and less violence. Someone was killed at Blake in 06.
I really like this school. It's like the school I've always dreamed of going to. The staff is teriffic and I enjoy hanging out with the students there because they are well taught there and so am I.
I am a parent of a junior at this school. The principal and staff have done a marvelous job in creating one community from a widely diverse population committed to learning. The students are kind to each other, and eager to keep building that community for their future classmates.
I went to Paint Branch all four years and am currently attending UMD college park. I'm an aerospace major and my classes could not be easier and I think a lot of that has to do with Paint Branch. Paint Branch is just on a whole other level than the rest of the country. Even my friends that went to private schools in Montgomery County are having a real hard time adjusting because their school just didn't have the resources to offer as many college level courses. And I'm finding that those same friends are socially handicapped because they were too sheltered and can't relate to people from other backgrounds.
