Rigorous academic instruction, teachers and staff that are concerned, focused, and genuinely interested in the education of our children, rules and reprecussions for adhering to acceptable standards of behavior, nurturing environment, assistance and guidance for children who are experiencing difficulty in school and/or home, great extra-curricular and after-school activities, involved parent community, and just a little rural school that makes the difference in the lives of our children every single day!!

Monocacy is like sending your child to private school! Small class-sizes, everyone knows each other and cares about each other. Excellent academics and extra-curricular opportunities! And at the foot of Sugarloaf Mountin in the Ag Reserve -- highly recommend this school!

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Maryland used the Maryland School Assessment (MSA) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in reading and math, and grades 5 and 8 in science. The MSA is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Maryland. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the test.
