My son has attended Gerstell for almost 3 years now. It has exceeded all of our expectations. The curriculum is challenging, yet appropriate. With that being said, he is learning so much more then what is just taught from a book. They are amazing at fostering a community of respectable, well-mannered leaders. I am proud to say I am a member of the Gerstell family. We are not wealthy and have to make sacrifices to afford the school, but it is worth every penny!!!

Good academics, athletics are excellent. Supportive parents and faculty. The campus is large, classroom sizes are small.

This school was a disappointment from the get go. Some of the teachers were not very qualified and were not able to push my kid academically. Other students were often pretty weak as well, which lowered the academic environment. I guess this could be a good school option if you live in the part of Baltimore County where there are drug and crime problems, or obviously the bad school areas of Westminster, but we were better served by moving or by, as we did, transferring our son to a better school.

When we first enrolled our son here ,we were looking for a school to challenge and engage our son. Now into our 3 rd year, we have been thoroughly mpressed with the leadership, academics, focus on Spanish and level of confidence Gerstell has brought out in our son. He absolutely loves it here and is constantly challenged to be his personal best. It's the only school that coincides with the way my husband and I raise our son and the fact that he is surrounded by outstanding students and faculty with the same mindset further instills these principals. If you are looking for a smaller school with very low student teacher ratios , excellent moral principals , polite, friendly staff and students -then check Gerstell out. It truly is the best decision we have ever made for our son!

As a graduate of a local, elite private school and a new parent of a Pre-K student at Gerstell, I have been amazed at the level of professionalism and knowledge of the teachers and staff. My child is thriving with the leadership guidance. My friends and family are amazed when they see the poise, character and manners of such a young child and it is directly related to the guidance of the faculty at Gerstell. The teachers and administration are professional, experienced and always willing to help in any way. The leadership and values based education is top notch and we could not ask for more from such a wonderful school.

I have had the privilege of being a affiliated with Gerstell Academy for 6 years. The school focuses on 4 areas. Leadership, Rigorous Academics, Physical training and Modern Language fluency. The students are polite and well mannered. The students attend top colleges and university when they graduate. I would highly recommend this school to parents considering the best environment for their child.

The Upper School is all around awful. Save your money and don't send your children here.

Gerstell Academy is a great fit for our family. The teachers are dedicated and caring. I appreciate how they and the administration provide nurturing and mentoring guidance when students make poor choices. They make sure that sub-standard student behaviors are addressed and students' mistakes become learning opportunities.

Gerstell Academy recently held their end of year academic and athletic awards ceremonies. I was very pleased by the high level of Spanish language achievement. Nationally, several students scored in the top 3% of students across the country. This is quite an honor for the school and their emphasis on four pillars which include leadership, challenging academics, physical fitness and Spanish fluency. The students who attend the school are polite and respectful, and we are proud of the MIAA athletic championship awards in soccer and lacrosse.

My daughter was at Gerstell for two years of middle school. From her experience we can say the Eng, Math and Science were poor academicallly and administratively in a state of flux with a lot of inexperience and no strong leadership. Spanish department is outstanding! Great oppotunities to excel or to get extra assistance when needed. The Spanish teacher is enthusiastic about what she teaches and inspires her students. History dept. is strong with plenty of opportunities to be successful. Phys. Ed. dept. is poorly staffed with inexperienced and immature staff which leads them to make poor decisions on important issues. Few sports offered: lacrosse, basketball and soccer. Few clubs/other organized activities to foster and encourage other interests of the children. As a whole the school is immature, small, and lacking in opportunities. Conduct code and rules are discriminatory and not consistently enforced. The claim to teach leadership,it's not completely clear how this is being fostered. The principles of the school, sound great, but aren't guiding the actions of many of the staff or student body. Staff members in leadership positions need more experience to make better decisions.

Both of my daughters have attended Gerstell Academy since they started school. My oldest daughter has been there since the first year classes were held in the main building and will be going into the 9th grade in the fall. My youngest will be in the 2nd grade. Both love to go to school, get consistently great grades and have gained knowledge that I am sure I was not taught until high school. The public speaking begins in pre-k and is amazing to watch the kids grow each year. Leadership curriculum is taught daily, in every single class. The kids are taught to show their appreciation to their peers, their teachers, the parents, and staff. The school has grown in exciting ways. For example, the Varsity Boys Soccer and Lacrosse teams won the MIAA "C" Conference Championships--the first year in the MIAA. All of the graduation seniors were accepted to college and awarded a stunning amount of scholarship funding. The clubs are growing in the middle and upper school including the "G" Club (a take on Glee Club--singing and dancing) in the middle school three years ago. The teachers and administrators are top notch in all three schools of Gerstell Academy. Cannot imagine another choice.

We have been involved with Gerstell Academy for six years as parents. We appreciate the emphasis on leadership, social skills, public speaking, and challenging academics. We love the daily physical education, the art and music programs, and the extra-curricular clubs and activities. We are very pleased that 100% of the high school seniors have been accepted to top colleges and universities. We highly recommend the school!

We have 2 young children attending Gerstell Academy and are proud to be part of the Gerstell family. The strong emphasis on leadership begins in Pre-K and the enriched curriculum will be essential for college readiness. The teachers and faculty are committed to educating our children and the parent association gives every parent an opportunity to be involved.

We were not happy with the school. Gerstell is supposed to be a school with a strong emphasis on leadership, we found that the children who attend the school had better leadership skills than their teachers. We were there for a total of 8 years and watched the school decline after a change in the administration.

Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
