Advent provides an exceptional learning environment with bright classrooms and teachers who encourage each child to learn and excel. The children grow academically and spiritually with a Christian education. The Parent Teacher League works together well, and the Principal has been a wonderful asset to the school. We are very pleased with our child's experience at Advent and would recommend any parent looking for a quality education for their child or children to come see what Advent has to offer.
For the first time in Advent Elementary's history, the school, church and child development center are working together. This is due to the new exceptional principal, pastor Paul Bickel. Pastor Bickel brings an impressive spiritual and academic resume to Advent. We appreciate his leadership, guidance and willingness to listen. Advent will continue to grow and strengthen under Pastor Bickel's direction.
Advent Lutheran has been a wonderful school for my child. We tried the public school system and had a terrible experience with bullying and other issues not being addressed. Advent is different. I have found the teachers and Pastor Bickel to be very responsive to any questions that I may have had. The Parent Teacher League which consists of all parents is consulted and provides input for the school. There are many opportunities to be involved from volunteering at library to hot lunch where you can see the children are learning and happy. We are not members of the congregation or Lutheran but our child has benefited greatly from a school that cares. Advent has been able to help my child excel academically. My child currently reads several levels above grade and is being taught from materials above grade level to continue advancement. My second child will begin kindergarten there.
I'm a proud parent of an Advent Lutheran Elementary student. My child has excelled academically and spiritually since we joined Advent. There is a strong Parent Teacher League that has open lines of communiation with the School, Church and Child Development Center. If anyone is interested in our School I would suggest they contact a parent. You don't need to be a member of the church congregation to be actively involved with your child's education.
My son is in the first grade at Advent Lutheran Elementary School and I am very pleased with the quality education he is receiving. The teachers are excellent and encorage each student to excel. Pastor Bickel provides exceptional leadership as Principal. There is a very active Parent-Teacher League where the parents, teachers and administrators work closely together to ensure the success of the school. I encourage anyone who is seeking a quality, Christian education, presented in a safe and nuturing environment, to consider Advent for their child.
This school was grossly misrepresented to us and we find its mission seriously misguided. While the building is beautiful, the direction of the school is controlled by an elite few associated with the church. This does not allow for a thriving school unless you are part of the church congregation. Communication is nonexistent and key decisions are made in vacuums. We decided this school is far from an acceptable fit for us and fear for its longevity under these weighty issues.
Under the leadership of Pastor Paul V. Bickel, the students at Advent Lutheran thrive. I am impressed with the strong curriculum, the Christ-centered environment, the wonderful teachers and the beautiful building. If you want a quality Christian education for your child, send him/her to Advent.
My child graduated from Advent in 2009. It is sad that this school has not been able to grow a larger student body each year. You will her many things good and not so good about Advent, but I will tell you, having been through 3 differnt schools in 7 years- you will not find a school that provides more love and respect for your child then this one. That is really what each child needs in their early years. Mrs Thierer and Mrs Aniunas are exceptional teachers who will give your child 110% and will cherish them. If this is what is important to you, please try Advent. Your child could shadow for a few days this school year and you can see what it is like. They can also meet the current students. This school is like a family- a happy, kind family
My daughter once attended Advent's day care facility, and is now in the third grade at Advent Elementary. I believe Advent provides a loving, christian environment for children to learn and grow, with a progressive trend toward higher academics, behavior, and personal development. The administration and faculty truely care about the students, and coupled with a new modern facility, Advent offers everything a student needs. While there has been a lack of leadership the past few years, we are excited to welcome a new principal for 2009. Rev. Bickel brings over 20 years teaching and principal experience to Advent, as well as his leadership skills and ministry. Advent is sure to benefit and grow under his guidance! My daughter loves this school and has developed many close friendships with students and staff. She wakes up each morning eager to embrace a new day of learning!
Advent is a wonderful school that offers the best Christian and quality education in the area. I teach at Advent and love my job. The children care for one another and are kind. It is like being part of one big family. I know the teachers love teaching at Advent and the children. The principal is fantastic. It is a comfort to us to have such a spiritual man who is a great leader. I would highly recommend that you visit our school and see for yourself.
