West Frederick Middle School

Teachers at this school really care about their students and want to be at this school. It is very diverse. The administration swiftly handles any problems that occur. Parents are respected here as well.

In my two years in this school (one in portables during remodeling, one after most remodeling was finished) I learned quite alot. I feel most of the teachers are quite supportive, helpful, and intelligent. I am saddened to have to leave the school, as it had many accelerated high school courses that I was planning on taking. I cannot compare this school to others in Frederick, as I've only been to this one middle school, but if you are concidering putting yourself/child into a place of TRUE learning, and possibly learning at an accelerated rate, then WFMS is a great school. I would highly reccomened this school. -Joshua Storm Becker

i think WFMS is an awesome place and especially since the school has been remodeled its defiantly the best place to go the technology is awesome too we even have promethean boards (sorry about spelling im typing in the dark and i dont like typing much) ~Trizzy

I think the students in this school do not show any respect towards the teachers. The administration is very lax on how to handle problem students. The co-prinicipal, Ms. Flora showed a lack of leadership among the students and is biased towards others that are diffrent.

I went to WFMS for a very short time and it was definitely not a pleasant enviroment. The teachers here were nice but didn't get respect and or discipline from students. They were not eager to learn and that is not the enviroment that I enjoy. I would not send someone there.

We've moved from out of state and will say I'm impressed with the schools Spanish program! The instructor is very knowledgeable and great at challenging students. A small percent of teachers seem to not want to be there. There seems to be a tremendous lack of order/discipline in the school with their 'only two rules policy'. This school needs better leadership and security. My children have attended schools far better than this school, in regards to leadership, quality, safety and discipline. I wouldn't recommend it!!

This school is awesome!! I had to move after my sixth grade year to another state and I miss this school so much! All the extra activities range from skiing and snowboarding club, Stock Market Club (all members get to go to New York City in 8th Grade), Newspaper Staff, History Club, Jazz Band, Dance Team, Yearbook Staff, Drama Club (they put on awesome plays!), Stage Crew (to go along with Drama Club), the Renzulli Program, and so much more! The staff actually care about the students and their passion is to teach, which is rare in most other schools. They also have many West Frederick traditions such as Fabulous Friday, Celebration of Excelence, and a lot more. I learned so much here, in 5th grade I had a C in Math and now I'm taking Algerbra 1. West Frederick is an amazing school and I recommend it (as does everybody)

I've had two daughters attend WFMS and they both absolutely loved it! The principal and staff were wonderful. It's a school full of diversity and respect for others!
