This school is OK at best if your kid is perfect. If your kid is even slightly outside of the "norm" they are targeted for retribution quickly. Several students are driven out through early targeted harassment. The teachers are aggressive, and the atmosphere is hostile towards children. Watch them carefully if you must have a child attend this place.

The Frederick Steeplechasers Running Club salutes Orchard Grove's running program for healthier kids and is fully supporting their efforts to get a track built for their school! We congratulate them for their exceptional initiative!

There are so many things that are great about OGES but I'd have to say that what really stands out is the teachers. They care, are involved and work hard each and everyday to give the kids a GREAT education.

We love OGES!!! The teachers are wonderful, especially Mrs. Alger (4th Grade). The curriculum is challenging and my daughter has really learned more than she did at her previous school in AL.

I like the school and the staff is wonderful. I had a child in the school for 2005/2006 school year and all was great. But now that my middle son (who has Autism/PDD NOS) has attended OGES for 3rd grade 2006/2007 and now 4th 2007/2008. In my experience with special education staff in the past, from another state, and even another local school my son attend. I have regretfully noticed that OGES needs a lot of improvement in the special education department. I feel some of the OGES staff seems to know very little in regards to Autism. Now, 1+ years later, we are finally making progress. OGES also has a serious lack of communication with the parents of special needs children.

My daughter attended Orchard Grove (K - 2). I am very happy with the progress my child is making. Her teachers were wonderful to work with. They always were happy to work with me to meet my child's needs.

I have sent 3 children through Orchard Grove with different levels of educational needs. From special ed to honors. The principal and the staff are excellent. The school is in great shape, the kids are well behaved, and the safety is at the highest. They do everything they can for you to help your children. I feel so lucky that my children were able to go there. It is always clean and they are expertly trained in dealing with children.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Maryland used the Maryland School Assessment (MSA) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in reading and math, and grades 5 and 8 in science.
