Pros: some great teachers, enthusiastic, caring and dedicated; Cons: generally everything else. The administration and staff seem overwhelmed, insincere, and out of touch. The general feeling I get is that most staff members would rather be somewhere else than at work helping children maximize their elementary school experience. My general motto for any job, especially one that involves interacting with people, is that you should be enthusiastic 9 out of 10 days. The feeling I get from Beall staff is more like 1 out of 10 days. I do not have a special needs child, but if you have a child with ADHD, autism, or Asperger's this is a school to be avoided for the staff's lack of support, knowledge and over all implementation of IEP directives.
This is an excellent school in a very safe community. The teachers and administration genuinely care about the students. The school participates in the backpack program sending food home on weekends to kids who would not normally have anything to eat on the weekends.
While this school maintains a very positive attitude, they fail to recognize, identify, or serve smart kids with learning disabilities. This seems to be a county wide issue, not just this particular school. They also failed to supply educational testing that we requested. They did a very poor job of supporting and accommodating my ADHD-inattentive type child in the upper grades. Lower grades did a phenomenal job in this area. This school does a stellar job at promoting parent involvement and allowing parents access to volunteer opportunities and classroom visits.
A great elementary school serving many needs with many programs, caring and happy kids, wonderful teachers and supportive administration
Outstanding principal and terrific staff. Always have the students best interest at heart
Great administrative leadership, great teachers, positive attitudes and an open door policy for parent involvement! Wonderful experience!
The Principal at this school is the best and all of the activities and programs are wonderful too! The teachers genuinely care about their students and I am proud to be a parent of three children who have gone to this school and one more to start next year! It is the best elementary school around, with Kids Corner, the Judy Center, and an all around great staff! You can't ask for better. They have EBS programs children who need help, an AEP program for the gifted kids and more! I highly recommend this school!
My child attends this school and as parents we are so pleased with the attentive teachers and staff. The positive attitude of the principal, staff and teachers make this a wonderful learning environment. Parents are encouraged to come into the classrooms and help, observe, or just visit anytime! My child is doing work and presentations that nearby elementary schools are not. I love Beall El!!
One of my children attended this school for 2.5 years and at every parent conference I was told that my child was doing great. When we relocated my child was behind in all subjects and had to be tutored to get caught up. After moving my child told me of some problems that he/she discussed with the teacher, and she ignored them. There are alot of activities and programs at this school, but if you can find a parking spot to attend you will find that they are very unorganized. Mrs. Wilson the principal was great at running the school, taking care of concerns and problems.
MY daughter attended kindergarten & first grade here, I am sad to say that we will be moving, and she will be attending a new school. She is also upset about leaving this school. We were treated very well at Beall, and the teachers always were willing to meet with us when we needed too. The parent workshop was a wonderful experience. I only wish it were more than a once a week experience. The parent coordinator Beverly Mohler was a great person to know, and ran the program wonderfully! I will miss her greatly! Also by particiapating in the workshop let me see how the classes and school ran, and made me appreciate the school more. I can only hope the new school my daughter will be attending has a great program like that.
