Up until recently I would have said this is a wonderful school. Sorry to say if your child has any problems and needs services you will not find the principal to be helpful. Getting an IEP is not easy and it is in your best interest to record every meeting and anything that is told to you follow up with an email saying what you were told. The principal is known to be friendly and say things in passing or pulling parents aside. Again follow up with an email. The scores are really high for this school and after finding out some not so nice information I can understand why--- they stack the deck by getting rid of any kids that cause the scores to go down. There are and have been numerous parents complain to the schoolboard but there is no accountability for principals so eveything gets overlooked and principals do whatever they want in montgomery county.
Ms. Williams is fantastic and does not allow any parent to choose their child's teacher, which is a very fair approach. The teachers (especially 1st and 3rd grade) are very creative and go above and beyond! I'm thrilled that my students go to this school! I love volunteering in my child's class.
Fantastic school. The principal Mrs. Williams is absolutely wonderful!!! She is a very active principal and the teachers are very approachable. My son loved it and now my younger one is starting KG this year...
Stone Mill Elementary is an outstanding school. The principal is excellent! The teachers go above and beyond.
A motivated principal (Ms. Williams) with able support of the teachers and staff make it a wonderful environment for the kids. I am seeing the impact on my kids and those of my friends who have gone on to excel in middle and high school.
Principal is awful. School not as good as it used to be. Certain parents get to pick their teachers some do not.
The school is great! The teachers do whatever is needed for student succes, and the school as a whole is fabulous. Kids are amazingly prepared for anything!!
Stone Mill has great staff from the maintenance people, teachers to the front office staff. All the staff and parents are very involved in making this truely and exceptional school. The principal is wonderful and the school only gets better every year due to her.
Excellent school, amazing principal, great kids, very disciplined school, definitely one of the best in Montgomery county.
Great kids with excellent discipline, hard working kids with excellent test scores compared with other elementary schools in Washingtonian Areas.
