My son is absolutely pleased with his teachers and learning experience. After 4 different schools in 2 years trying to find a fit. We found it. Public schools were just not challenging him mentally or physically. We are pleased from the interview process initially to child's desired behavior currently.
There isn't much bullying. They teach competitiveness is natural and ways to compete respectively. Also taught is communication to each other regardless of grade. So each student is able to communicate his feeling toward a situation without degrading the other.
Leadership is not taught in the public school system until high school and only if the student takes the class to teach it.
Here, each student in each grade during each class will be taught leadership in some way.
Wow! The respect my son displays is astronomical. The respect EACH student in ALL grades exhibit is comforting. To know that respect, integrity and compassion still exists within a school system, is even more relevant.
Homework in elementary is always spelled out, documented in a notebook and different every week, if not every day. Something new for my young man to learn. It is efficient in assisting him learning through different fun effective approaches.
