Ever since the previous principal left Springhill Lake, the school has gone down under. There are now incompetent teachers, low parent involvement, and the new principal is uncaring and does not care how the school is ran.

This school is in the middle of gangland, and the apartment complexes around house unsavory characters who want to hurt your children. The students also run loose, beating each other and disrespecting any visitors. The school is run by a poor excuse for a principal. She does not care what happens to the students. This school is a joke.

Springhill Lake Elementary is a great school. Three of my children have passed through SHLE and a fourth is currently doing 5th Grade there. The staff is professional and dedicated. But what I liked the most is the personalized education being dispensed to the students who need special guidance and after-school follow-ups. I'm satisfied that i chose Springhill Elementary School for my children's education five years running. Richard Nyamboli (Parent)

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Maryland used the Maryland School Assessment (MSA) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in reading and math, and grades 5 and 8 in science. The MSA is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Maryland.
