Fountaindale is a real gem. Member of the Coalition of Essential Schools, Magnet School for the Arts, small class sizes (15% below State capacity), active afterschool programing and outstanding staff. It is the only elementary school in the county with free afterschool learning academies, athletic programs and STARS recognition events. We are very fortunate to send our kids to this school.

This School is wonderful. The staff is very nice and they have taught me very well. I have liked every teacher. I love this school! It has been the only place i will never be afraid. Plus i know that i can talk to the teachers and staff without feeling weird. I trust everyone of them and this is the best school ever!

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Maryland used the Maryland School Assessment (MSA) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in reading and math, and grades 5 and 8 in science. The MSA is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Maryland. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the test.
