I was worried about sending my 7th grader to middle school for the first time this year. We are a military family and the last state we were in, elementary went up to sixth grade. We had a rough first couple weeks as my son tried to get used to it. It was hard since the teachers did not know he was new to middle school so he was spoken to like he already had a year under his belt. However, once I spoke to the teachers and they understood where he was coming from, things improved greatly. The guidance counselor and teachers helped him when he needed it and help set him back on his feet. My son likes his teachers and his classes well enough. He's not fond of most of the students, however. He complains about students trying to trip others in the hallway. He is very excited to start robotics this year and I'm very pleased the school is able to offer this. The computer teacher's enthusiasm over this class was evident. I think as far as middle schools go, we hit gold. The teachers care, I'm not worried for my son's safety, and even his bus driver seems to know how to deal with them.

This is an annoying school that doesn't take anything seriously. Ths students are rude and judgemental and there are many cliques. There are fights and racist comments 27/7. This is probably one of the if not the worst school i've ever been to and i've been to many. The teachers are good but the students (most of them) are appaling!

This School was everything to all the students I grew up with, Yeah, Mrs. Hollaway, was always on my case about centain issues. But By Far This School to me has proved to be one of the ones where everyone gets along and The drugs are going down, The kids are straightened up and Wow, Havre De Grace Middle is everything I could ever imagine and more, If you ever send your kids here, Make sure Miss Milore talks to your child, She was great for me and I was a handful. The Teachers will bend over backward for their students, But Miss Milore is by far the best in this school.

I am somewhat dissapointed inthis school. We applied for and recieved a boundry exception because I beleived this school was the better of what we had to choce from. it seems that all Harford Co. schools are lacking when it come to chalenging students that are ahead of their peers. My son has told me repedetly that he is board and wants to be challenged. I have asked for him to be givien more challenging work and it has not happened. He is in the top classes and still needs to be more engaiched. Over all the school if fine if your student is below ot just at grade leavel.
