I loved teaching at St. Mark's. It was over 25 years ago but i still have very fond memories of the students and teachers. Am sad to see that the school has closed.
We have been at St. Mark's for a number of years and are very disappointed with the closing of St. Mark's next year. The 'new' school - St. Francis - on the campus of St. Camillus, is a vision that I don't believe will be sustainable. The facilities at St. Camillus are a disappoint from what we have available at St. Mark's.
I would like to echo the sentiments of the majority of reviewers here. My child recently started year 6 at St Marks and I couldn't be more pleased with the progress and achievements of my child, currently an honor roll studen. The teachers go above and beyond their scope of duties to ensure that the kids learn, are kept safe and at the same time have fun. I have complete peace of mind when I drop my child off, knowing that it is a safe environment very condusive to learning.
I have a child in the who has been at the school since Pre-School and one that graduated and is in High School. The school and community at St Marks is excellent. My children always felt safe and comfortable to attend school. The curriculum has not always been absolutely perfect, but I did notice with my older child that over the years each teacher taught very important lessons and methods of learning that are helping her tremendously in High School. Also, the time management skills my younger daughter learned in Pre-kindergarten were fantastic. My main regret is that I didn't start my older daughter earlier at St. Marks. Great school, amazing caring teachers and great parents who work hard to support the needs of the school It is such a diverse school that there isn't a child in the world that cannot fit into this school.
I have been a parent/parishioner of St. Mark's for over 12 years. Both of my children graduated and attend a local Catholic HS. I can in all sincerety say that they were both well-prepared for the rigors of a Catholic high school education. I don't agree with the parent that claims public school and other schools are better. Not sure how they concluded that. Most of the graduates of St. Mark's make the honor roll at their perspective schools. The teaching staff is very dedicated to the kids and have shown their commitment even with all the changes in the administration over the years. We also have made lifelong friends at this school as have our kids. It's a wonderful community!
Very good school. My daughter was well prepared for High School and was well looked after at St. Marks. There are some wonderful teachers at the school who really care about the students and really know how to bring out the best in each child.
This is a great school! The new Principal has been the best thing for the school. The community is caring, the academics are great, and the teachers are very good. The school is diverse.
My son has thrived in high school, in large measure due to the foundation he was given at St. Marks. There, he was viewed as an entire person -- shy, weak in some areas, strong in others and growing and changing daily. I found the staff and the administration responsive, the parents and parental involvement terrific, and an overall terrific experience. (Note, I didn't use the word 'perfect' but perfect doesn't exist.) I still miss the community we all found at this wonderful school.
My children have been going to St. Mark's since pre-school. The teacher's are very helpful and the school is very accomodating especially to children with learning disabilites.
Our two oldest children graduated from St. Mark's and our youngest child is attending. We are very please with the education they have received. St. Mark's provides a nurturing, learning environment that well prepared them to take on the challenges of high school and beyond.
