We LOVE St. Johns! We feel very lucky to be a member of the school. The math and language arts program is amazing. Each grade is seperated into three math and language arts group so the children get one-on-one attention. My son's groups are a total of 5 children to one teacher for math and reading. I don't know of any school that offers their students this type of one-on-one learning. Teachers can easily identify issues of concern because they have the time to work with each student. Small group learning and teachers that really care! It's a wonderful community!

When you walk into St. John School you feel at home; from our first visit I knew it was the place I wanted my kids to be when they weren't with me. The teachers are dedicated, well-educated and experienced and have the time to meet and know each child on an individual basis. It's a small school with the resources of a big school!

My kids love going to school at St. John's! Their teachers really care about them and take the time to get to know each student and their strengths and weaknesses. It is a small school with a close-knit and warm community of families and faculty. St. John's also goes the extra mile to teach kids about respect, reverence and responsibility (three new 'R's' in addition to outstanding academics). The only area that could be improved would be expanded facilities for gym/assemblies.

My son loves his school, it's very family orientated. The classes are small and also split into three groups for reading and math, based on skill level. 5-7 kids per class. Excellent seasoned teachers that care about each child.

St. John is a small catholic school dedicated to academic excellence. Bordering Baltimore & Harford Counties, it is also in one of the most beautiful areas (Long Green Valley) in the state. The principal knows every childs name from Pre-k3 to grade 8. The teachers are concerned & dedicated to every childs needs, and class sizes are kept small (student/teacher ratio is 12-1). This school is truly a 'home away from home' for my children. I can rest assured knowing that the morals & values that I teach at home are reinforced in a loving & nurturing, yet VERY education oriented atmosphere. 99% of their 8th graders are accepted into their 1st choice high school, in our area this is truly impressive. I believe that St. John is not just a great school, it is also a family. I feel blessed every day to be a part of this community!

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

Oops! We currently do not have any student information for this school. We rely on the state Department of Education, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), and in some cases school administrators such as registrars and principals for this data.
