I have 3 children at JC Parks and a 4th that has moved on to middle school. We all have loved this school and it's staff. All of the teachers we have had an opportunity to interact with and the entire staff have been wonderful. I have 2 children with an IEP and one child who has had after hours tutoring. The teachers at JC Parks really care about the kids education. This is a great school!

My children and I love Parks! This is the first school that they've attended in the area that I feel comfortable when I drop them off in the morning. Mrs. Blacktree's leadership is excellent and she maintains high standards for the school. The third and fourth grade teachers are excellent. If your child needs help (accelerated or special attention) they make sure they get it. My child was behind in math after attending local private schools but the school worked with her and am pleased to say she scored above average on the math section of the MSA. I know that is because of the attention of the teachers. My children received plenty of academic challenges. If there was a discipline problem, the teacher was quick to correct it. We had a great school year and looking forward to the next one.

I came to this school from out of town this past school year. Administration needs to tighten up. If your child has an IEP, make sure you know the system and your rights. If you don't, please contact the parent center. They are a huge help!

J.C. Parks is an excellent school that teaches the kids to be positive, have pride, and respect. The teachers are devoted and enthusiastic in their teaching. The class size is big, but it's due to be redistricted in fall 2006 which will greatly reduce the size of the school. Parental involvement is good, with a devoted core of parents in the PTO and volunteering at the school. It's a great mix of economics and races. They offer a variety of enhancement programs, such as math team, Destination Imagination, chess club, etc.

I have two children who attend JC Parks. One 4th grade other Kindergarten. They both love the school and so do I. My 4th grader is learning 5th and 6 grade work. And my kindergarten is earning 1st grade work. It's amazing. The teachers really take their time with each student. The school has monthly PTO meetings.

I have three children that have attended J.C. Parks Elementary School. They have all done well and were very happy and challenged there. I have volunteered there and been around the teachers and administration. They are dedicated to the students and give many hours of their own time, away from their own families for their students. Many teachers stay late at night and/or come in early before they are required to be there. I can't imagine how the comments of some of the other parents on this site must make them feel. What a slap in the face after all their hours of hard work, caring and dedication. I thank the teachers of J.C. Parks for all they have given to my children.

My daughter has attended JC Parks since she was six years old. She is in special education class and I am very disappointed in the program. The school staff does not show any interest in my childs education.

I have three children in this school and I have watched my thriving children loose complete interest in school. There is no motivation, no challenge and no teacher feedback. I have to constant challenge my children when they get home to keep them on their advanced level. I too agree that my children are now numbers, Ms. Blacktree is wonderful, she is constantly aware of her students, all 1000 of them. But I beg to question is she aware of the attendence problems with her Kindergarden Teachers and 1st Grade Teachers. They are the foundation builders to a great education. A substitute teacher doesn't care about my child nor is the one preparing the lesson plans. What's next, my children teach themselves.
