North Bend is a great school. When I go there I am always greeted with a smile and a "hello". As for the teachers my daughter is going in to second grade and so far every teacher she has had have been great. They take time with each student and offer help if needed. They also realize that if a student is exceling in a certain area then they make it more challenging so that it stays interesting. The only person we have had probs with is the gym teacher. My son attended the North Harford Elementary for Pre-K and I am so happy that he is moving to NB this year. North Bend treats you like as person not like they are better than you like North Harfords Secretary.

There is no diversity here amongst students or staff. Some very closed minds as well. This is a school that believes in collective punishment. My daughter comes home in tears because the whole class had recess taken away because of the problems of one or two students. Silent recess for fifth graders on rainy days. Cafeteria serving up hot dogs and Doritos. The Assistant Principal looks down when she sees a parent. No eye contact or greeting. I do not see much respect for the students. Some 360 degree feedback including students and parents for teachers' evaluations would help the County see more of these failures. One positive note, the PTA is active and has many involved parents.

There are so many things about North Bend Elementary School - Teachers happy and willing to support all children - Staff help and support workers and families. Guidance for all areas from at home, dealing with any situation that arise, and to go and extra mile plus to get each child their individual help and support needed to have a better progress for in school situations and outside the school situations that may arise.
