Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

Last year we transferred our daughter from Perry Hall Elementary to St Stephen. She was going into the 2nd grade so we all were nervous about the switch. We were amazed how welcoming everyone was to us. The parents, faculty, and children are so warm and caring. The education she received surpassed our expectations. She has excelled academically and socially. The school has great extra curricular activities too. In one year, we have all made so many friends. It's not just a school, it's a family. Someone asked Kelsey why she liked her new school. Her answer confirmed that we made the right choice. She said "Because everyone is nice to me and each other." We couldn't be happier at St. Stephen!

Faith, values, education...Saint Stephens is thriving! They are building a new Pre-K building for 3 and 4 year olds that will open in fall of 2014. They are also preparing to add air conditioning to the main K-8 school building. Wifi throughout the campus and more I-pads being added for the students. The school is an island of sanity in an insane world. This is the America you grew up in- Church on Sunday, family picnics, carnival, school plays, involved parents. Saint Stephen can be summed up in one moment- in the middle of recess when the Church bells ring all 300+ students stop, stand silent, and face the Church. Its truly amazing and heartwarming to witness. The teachers and parents are very involved and act as one big family. You will not be disappointed! Your child is worth the investment!

We left a local public school for St. Stephen. I had no idea what a private school was all about since all I've ever known is public. It has far exceeded my expectations. It's a very loving and friendly atmosphere. My child is thriving and loves going to school! The principal to the maintenance man work very hard to make a great school even better.

We are very pleased with our experience so far at St. Stephen . I have been especially impressed by the faculty and staff at St. Stephen and their mastery of their craft. My children love coming to school every day and I know their teachers genuinely care about the success of the students both academically and socially. It really is like a 2nd home to us and that is a wonderful feeling!

I've taught at St. Stephen School for 23 years. My children all graduated from here, and my grandchildren will be attending soon. This school has a family atmosphere, very supportive parents, teachers who always put the concerns of their students first, and a faculty with whom it has my pleasure to work. I love this place!!!

I love St. Stephen's School because it is small and every child gets the individual attention they need. SSS promotes faith, respect, and love in their education and school day. We have been part of the school for over 15 years and have loved watching the school expand its cirriculum and technological with the support of parents, parishoners, and friends. With the continued generosity of everyone it will continue to flourish-God Bless

What I really like about St.Stephen School is that they develope the students not only academically, but spiritually as well. The day begins with the whole school praying together, and ends with each class saying a prayer.

St. Stephen School is a small catholic elementary school, comprised of one class per grade from Pre-K to 8th grade. St. Stephen School provides a wonderful academic and religious educational program. Many teachers have advanced degrees. St. Stephen School offers a state of the art science lab and a computer lab for their students. In addition to the required curriculum, classes are offered in art, foreign language, music, and physical education. The beauty about St. Stephen School is not only the parents and teachers are excited about the school but the students are excited about their experiences at St. Stephen School.

What's not to love about St. Stephen School? We have the best principal, staff and teachers you could ever hope for. They are dedicated to helping further our children's educational, emotional, and spiritual growth. Core solid family values make St. Stephen a strong, save environment for our children to learn and grow in. The school's attitude, acceptance, flexibility, adaptability and diverse approach in today's modern culture make it very unique (a good mixture of conservative and liberal). We are strongly supported by our parents, Home/School and Father s Club Associations, our School Board, Alumni, Parish and surrounding community. Our children graduate from St. Stephen School well prepared both educationally and spiritually ready to face life s new challenges. I am a proud parent of two students of St. Stephen School and couldn't be happier with the educational, emotional, social and spiritual grow the school has provided them.

This school has all of the ingredients needed for success-great leadership in our principal, caring and devoted teachers and staff, and very dedicated parents, many of whom are making a financial sacrifice to send their children here. I love how the Father's Club can assemble a workforce with just a few emails or phone calls.

I love St. Stephen School because of the great family atmosphere. I really feel that we all pull together to make a great school environment. Everyone works very hard to make the school such a success. I am extremely grateful to the wonderful faculty and staff at the school for their devotion and hard work they provide to our children. Their goal is to make our children better people, to be more compassionate and caring with one another. They encourage faith and growth in them to acheive so much. I could not think of a better place for my children to learn and grow.

I am a former student (class of 1980) with 4 kids currently attending the school in K, 2nd, 4th, and 7th grades. This school is everything you would want for your family. The teachers are excellent and the parental involvement is incredible. Everyone, from the principal to the maintenance man to the wonderful ladies in the office seem to make your child their number one priority. Saint Stephen is an island of sanity in this crazy world. The communication, thru newsletters, HSA meetings, back to school nights, email, etc is outstanding. The Carnival, Haunted Woods, Spaghetti Dinner, Christmas bazaar, 250 Club, and other events are awesome. This month we will be 'trunk or treating', next month we will attend the bonfire, then in December all the kids will be in the Christmas Pageant. What a great school, its like a second home.

My children have been attending St. Stephen School for the past six years and my husband and I could not be more pleased with the education that they are receiving. The teachers take an active intrest in every student, making sure that every child achieves success. We have always had great communication with the teachers and staff. St. Stephen School is a place for our children to gow academically and religiouly. We could not be more pleased with their education. St. Stephen is a terrific enviornment for any child.

I am the parent of a second grade student who has been at St. Stephen since Pre-k-3. Throughout our time at St. Stephen, I have watched my son grow academically, emotionally, socially, and spriritually. My wife and I have worked at various parish and school fundraisers and have found everyone to be helpful, caring, and dedicated to the school and its students. The parent-teacher communication is better than most schools; whether it is via email, telephone, newsletters, church bulletins, or letters home, I always feel like my wife and I are updated on and included in the various school and parish activities and information. The faculty and staff are truly remarkable. There is very little teacher-turnover, which is a true indication that the teachers not only love what they do, but that they also love where they work. I couldn't ask for a better environment for my son.

I am an eighth grade student at St. Stephen, and while I am excited about high school next year, I am sad to leave St. Stephen. I have been here since Pre-K 4 and have made so many meaningful friendships here. I just received my high school admission letters yesterday, and I have been accepted to all three of my top choice schools. I would have never been able to do that without the help of the teachers at St. Stephen. They helped me with my assignments, encouraged me when I wasn't so sure of myself, and gave me everything that I need to know for high school. They are really passionate about what they do, and it's obvious that they really care about their students. The work together like a team and always made sure I was on the right track. I will truly miss St. Stephen!

I am terribly disappointed in some of the comments I have read here. My child has been at the school for 3 years. I feel he has been nurtured and loved in his time at the school. He has excelled under the guidance of caring, competent, and dedicated staff. I am proud to be a member of the St. Stephen School Community!

This school continues to fall into a steep decline -- decline of standards, decline of communication, decline of morals, decline of everything. Parents are largely ignored. Staff is obnoxious and some are completely incompetent. Staff mistakes are protected by the principal.

I second that!!!! Communication between teacher & parents is very minimal. Students are 'thrown to the wolves'. If your child is struggling in any grade parents are the last ones to know. No help whatsoever is offered for students who need it. Very sad.

This school is a huge disappointment. Communication is very poor between staff and parents.e-mails are largely ignored. Cirriculum and recordkeeping fall secondary to fundraising. In the last six years, approximately 80% of the faculty has been replaced and then replaced again. Written communication from the office of the principal is overwrought with misspellings and grammatical mistakes.
