Columbia Park Elementary School

The most Negligent; Non-Caring; Unprofessional Staff. They do not properly instruct or supervise the students. When children are injured they do not properly notify Parents or Medical Personnel; worrying only about their liability. They should not be entrusted with any children.

Columbia Park School offers excellent educational environment for all children of diverse backgrounds. The staff are very professional and caring. The school grounds are kept clean.

I am a mother of three children that attended Columbia Park, and it was a pleasure in the beginning and I love all the teachers that my children have encountered. They have taken the time to teach them! Now on the downside of things, there is a lot of covering up, sweeping thing under the rug type of stuff going on. It just been a big headache here. Am glad to say goodbye to them!

I am very unhappy with the schools organization. They often have events that lack coordination and the only teachers that attend are the pre-k teachers. I acknowledge that the neighborhood my be stereotyped into a certain class, but how can they expect parent participation if the teacher's/employees do not even want to attend. There are not academic programs or extra corricular activites available to several of the grade levels. Parent involvement could be much better, but every event I have attended totally disgusted me. I have joined the PTO and have never been notified of a meeting or scheduled day. My child will not be attending next year if I have a choice. The pre-k teachers are GREAT!

My children have attended since K. I am very dissatisfied with the school. Always have been but have no choice in the matter. They are terribly disorganized. At the beginning of the school year my son started out with a sub for two weeks.

When my son first started this school I was happy because he was attending the school that I went to and I knew how it was back then. But now I am very disappointed in this school. The teacher's, principle, and the vice principle are very unprofessional, have nasty attitudes, and cover problems with each other to avoid complaints. I have never been so disgusted with the actions at that school, not only that the school failed most of the state scores, and my son will be tranferring to a better school for more qualified education, professional staff, better programs, and to be in a school that is run properly.

My nephew attended this school which h was staying with me. I found the school and staff very helf in getting him settle in his new educational environment. He was tested and placed in his appropiate grade level. The principal took the time to meet with us to discuss my nephew's educational plan. The offers various of extracurricular activities for the student to be involved in. My nephew join the choir, the science club, the Black Saga Club, Technology Club and was identified as a TAG student. I was alway kept informed of his progress and able to visit anytime I was able. My family was very pleased with the administration, staff, and students of this school.

When my children started at CP, I was greatly distrub, with there academic program. This school is in great need of help and improvement. The teachers and staff are very unprofessional,including the principal and vice principal.No one cares about the students maybe with the expection of a few teachers. I'm greatly disappointed with this school. Someone really needs to look into the problems at this school. I'm pulling my kids out because it's not what I expected. Children don't have exposure to other cultures, they don't offer extra classes such as art etc, there not allowed to bring books home from the library.We moved here from a different county and I can tell you things are truly differenet.

I transferred my child from a private school to this school. I must admit, the children are left behind to a certain extent, but parents have to instill certain values and expectations in their child prior to attending school, this includes pre-K. I truly commend the primary teachers more than anything. They have a great 'team' that works together to complete what will be taught to the child on a whole. But since my son has attended this school, he's had a total of 6 teachers within 2 grades and I think this is where the problems arise. Even if your child has a great start in the primary grade, they have to continue to have encouraging yet stern teachers throughout elementary school or middle and high school will be overwhelming, especially for the children.

First I would like to say teachers at this school are not prepared to teach our students life lessons, by the way they talk, dress and they truly don't care. My child attended this school by force I couldn't send her to a school out of the jurisdiction. I was very disappointed in the Quality of academic programs. I am not the only parent that feels this way, when you address a concern instead of working toward positive results. Everyone is on the defense to cover each other and the child is the one who is left behind. My involvement allows me to see what was unacceptable.
