I went to Murray Hill Middle School this year. The school is very clean and the people there are genuinely friendly.

Dr.Dickey is really just the reason there are 1 or 2 star ratings and I can't say I disagree. Glad he's leaving

MHMS is supported by a strong principal who recognizes the quality teachers & tries to mentor or move on those who are tired or not devoted to our profession. Any teacher who is upset by this dynamic style of leadership is one who may want to reconsider their chosen profession or step up their game and rededicate themselves to being a cutting edge professional within the building. We have so many educators who are willing to go that "extra mile" for our kids (as evidenced by the previous reviews) and that kind of dedication is amazing. So many of our former students come back and visit, and those who have been here longer than 7 years (like myself) see the devotion our school and our support has engendered within our former students and from the community. I love MHMS and I'm proud to teach here.

My son just started 6th grade and my observation about the school is awesome. Principal Mr. Dickey and the teachers are very dedicated to get the best out of each kid. I am really surprised to know that my son's GT science teacher Mr. Richard Sherin is MIT Chemical Engineering graduate. I could see lot of inspiration in my son from Mr. Sherin and other teachers. Looking for a great year ahead.

MHMS is the best school ever! The teachers and staff work hard to help each and every student be the best they can be.Also, the principal Mr.Dickey is the best.I really like and enjoy the events such as the MSA Pep Rally that motivates us to always work hard and do our best. When I moved I was so upset because Murray Hill was like my home away from home and I loved to come to school each day.I would do anything in the world to come back.

The principal is a fair and honest man who cares very deeply for the kids. He has set a strong vision for the school and as long as he remains the principal the school will continue to improve.

This is by far one of the best schools my child has attended. I am very pleased with the staff their at Murray Hill. My child came from Anne Arundel County schools with a IEP, very below in grade level in almost every class. When he came to Murray Hill within less than a year he made tremendous progress. I feel like they have been on top of his IEP plan as the goal was set. The teachers have worked hard to get him on grade level through the past years. And he had made it successfully! With the teachers dedication to him and his hard work and effort he will no longer need a IEP after 9th grade. I have never seen such a dedicated group of teachers in the past and I am thankful for their kindness and knowledge of their career to be able to teach my child.

Class of 2008 was the best year. I'm going to miss Murray Hill Middle School, as we move onto high school. Mr. Dickey was the best principal, I must say. He was an outstanding principal, who would listen to our troubles, if we had any. I'm going to miss the school, as I had previously said before. Class of 2009, and the other classes, I hope you have a great time with Mr. Dickey, as you will have him more than the Class of 2008. Cherish the time at school with him, for he will be the best principal you have ever had. I would like to see good reviews on this school, as the years go on. And, I hope to revisit the school some day, after school from High School. And, Mr. Dickey had even stated that when he has been principal at the school, the office reports had

I am a parent with 2 kids in this school. Although I was not thrilled with the prior principal, I am confident that the forthcoming changes in this school due to the new principal, Mr. Dickey are going in the right direction. The kids coming to this school from outside our area have challenges that have affected MHMS in the past, but Mr. Dickey, seems to have made vast improvements in the overall behavior of the kids in the school and has raised the standards that he expects from the students. I truly believe that this school is going to be better and better as the principal instills his new techniques and expectations on both the students and the teachers. I have been very happy with the teachers in previous years and I think it's just getting better.

I've been at this school for 2 years. The principal changed last year. The school is on the State watch list and the principal has all the teachers teaching to the MSA test. The students are not heard and some of the teachers talk to the students like they are dirt.
