Parkside is a small school, compared to some. I have never seen a school that does so much for their students and keeps them so interested in school. Then again, I have never seen so many parents take such an interest in the school and turn out for the programs and anything that goes on in the school. I was very active in my children's PTA and they went to large schools, and there were never that many parents to show up for anything. I am very impressed with what my grandchildren are learning and studing. The active PTA I know helps and they get their support from other parents, but they also get the backing from the teachers and all the staff at the school. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

I love Parkside because the entire staff cares about my kid! They all know him and strive for his life and learning experience to be meaningful. The staff at Parkside goes the extra mile. Parkside cares about every child!

From the first day we walked into Parkside, my son and I both felt comfortable there. You just know when you're in a good place.

Parkside allows my child to feel special and good about herself. She feels she can be or do anything she wants in live because she is getting the foundation she need to be a successful person.

This is a great school with high academic quality and experienced teachers. Parents are heavily involved on a volunteer basis. As newcomers to the area, we have been very pleased with the competence and quality of Parkside School. This school is a real find.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Maryland used the Maryland School Assessment (MSA) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in reading and math, and grades 5 and 8 in science. The MSA is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Maryland. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the test.
