I have two children at Leonardtown High. I think it is an extremely good school. They really encourage academic excellence inside a caring and small town atmosphere. My children have thrived here.
We love Leonardtown High! Best HighSchool in the area. I saw some might complain that they don't communicate well when your child is failing etc. But if you are informed and use their HAC website you can see whats going on everyday and initiate that contact yourself. The teachers have always been very helpful when we've had any problems.
Teachers do not communicate 1:1 with parents of students who are failing. They do not return calls when expected. Councelors are pretty worthless
Great school, parents involved in what's going on. Safe small community atmosphere. Teachers are focused on education and care about students success.
i absolutely love my school. it is a little crowded but that makes it fun. there are all kinds of people there and it is so great. i love it.
Academic programs are excellent. I have graduated 1 of my 4 children from Leonardtown and 2 are currently enrolled. The teachers are well versed in their areas of studies, and the availability for extracurricular activities is very high. The school has many Parents coming in to volunteer in the offices and media center, and the PTSA is highly involved.
I really like this school. my daughter will graduate this year, and has had great experiences. The teachers and staff, while sometimes frustrating, have been available, and reasonable. I will send my son to this school as well.
Academic programs suffer because of relatively new and inexperienced leadership at the administrative level.
