Southern Middle School

As a parent of Southern Middle school students I can say that I am 100 % satisfied with the academics and administration of our school. I have had a daughter go through 12 years of public school in our area and she is now in graduate school at a highly respected college. I feel she was very well prepared for the rigors of college and she has done amazingly well. Now I have the next two children coming through... 8th grade and entering 6th. The principal is excellent as are the guidance counselors, they Truly care for the students!! I have been extremely impressed with each of the teachers and for the most part I believe they truly care about the success of their students. The STARS time to assist students and the after school Dance, and Art programs have been great. The Dance and chorus performances will amaze you!!! The PTA is very strong with excellent leadership. Many things are done for the students and special programs brought in through the efforts of the parents and the PTA. I am so happy with the education and environment Southern Middle offers I do not feel any need to consider sending my children to any other schools. Go Bulldogs!

I am a student of southern middle school. I have had very little issues and when I do the administrators are always there to help. I would recommend this school to those who have recently moved here. The teachers are kind and listen to your comments in class.

im a student at southern middle school and the teachers are great there. If i would ever haved to go to a diffrent middle school i wouldnt know wat to do. the teachers get involved with diffrent activities and our giudance coucelours and adminstrators always joke around and we have so many college preps. we do have AVID classes that get you ready for college and we have musical thearter which i would reccomend for boys and girls im in it mrs. sturgell takes her time as a math teacher and a musical thearter, and alot of teachers r teachers and have accudemics, its amazing!! i it there!!

I say Southern Middle School is a very good school! I now go to a private school in Memphis, TN (St. George's Independent School), and southern midle reminds me a lot like this school. The teachers are great, it is not very strict, and the athletic program is pretty good.

I'm a student at Southern and it is a very good school. My cousins and friends told me it wasn't a good school but they were wrong. The teachers are great. Ecspeaicialy Mrs. Groo(6th grade Language Arts) and Mr. Hawthorne( Orchestra and chrous) I would highly recomend this school

I had my children in a 'high quality' private school before we moved to this area. One of my children had spent all twelve years in pricey prep schools. I believe that my son is getting an education that is equivalent and in many ways much better. The music, PE, and other courses have wonderful equipment that those private schools never had. The 6th grade teachers have been very helpful and responsive to some special needs that my son has. I will agree that Mr. Heiser is a gem. My son was very leery about entering the new school and Mr. Heiser personally helped him and looked after him until he got oriented. I had looked at the school's scores and had neighbors tell me not to send my kids to Southern Middle school. They were absolutely wrong. I would recommend this school highly.

their are very low problems there teachers and staff are very helpful mr.heiser is very helpful good educational levels music ,insturments are very fun to play in band class.
