This school is now known as the Glendale Montessori school at its new location in Glendale, MD on Hillmeade. AGAIN, if you value the education and atmosphere of learning that your child is in.....DO NOT SEND him or her to this school.

A wonderful school, with a great new building , nice airy class rooms, a gym , library , kitchen. The program includes various clubs such as yoga , music, art, cooking, spanish. The really understanding administration and the good relationship between the staff and the parents helps strengthen the school and motivates parents to work towards positive goals. After looking into various montessori school , i decided on this one since none other had so much to offer in one small easy to park , nice compact building.

My oldest attended when she was 3-6 yo (she's now 9). We had a wonderful experience in the classroom with Ms. Erma Molina; Ms. Harvey is a wonderful woman, but her strengths (at least 6 years ago) didn't lie in administration.

After reading some of the other reviews I'm quite surprised. The school is not dirty, I have no idea why anyone would enroll their child in a school that they felt was dirty. As a parent, you have the opportunity to help clean up on parental volunteer days anyway. In addition the fees for field trips, music and other activities are NOT hidden, they are clearly shown on the tuition sheet, all you have to do is read. My daughter has only been there about 1 month but so far so good. I've seen lots of progress and the price is much more reasonable than the other Montessori school we visited.

i wrote a previous review of this school, and I felt that I needed to return and mention that I found it necessary to withdrawal my child as the level of quality has significantly gone down. The school is dirty, and extremely unorganized. I am extremely disappointed and I hope that the situation can be turned around.

My daughter has thrived at MMS. The teaching staff are excellent and really care about the students. The curriculum is advanced and my 3-year old can identify the sounds of all the letters and can write many of them.

I like this school very much. The teachers seem to care very much for the students and they really make an effort to get to know you. I can tell the principal/director really loves what she does. She puts her heart into the school. There is a true sense of community. I believe there should be lots of participation by parents as well as the teacher. I feel that my son has benefited from attending this school.

The school was a huge disappointment. There is no structure for keeping kids actively involved. No daily reports & teachers struggled to explain what was taught that day. We consulted twice w/teacher about 2 kids hitting & bullying others daily w/o punishment. The teacher acknowledged the issue but was discouraged as she d received no support from the director to resolve it. The director/owner speaks as though there s a plan but she & the school are very disorganized. Many teachers are her relatives/friends & aren t reprimanded. There are bad accounting practices, many hidden fees & additional fees for music, Spanish, computer, & trips. The playground is cement covered w/mulch & poorly supervised as kids climb the fence often & many times can be found at the main exit unsupervised. After 2.5 months & meetings w/director about our concerns went nowhere, we abruptly withdrew our son. Overall quality is very poor.

I have been very happy with my experience with MCH. My initial concerns with my son was that he wasn't speaking very well and I felt that I wanted him in a more structured enviroment ro prep him for actual school. I removed him from regular daycare and enrolled him as soon as I could (2.5), into the prep-montessori program at MCH. I have been very impressed with his progress and he has only been in attentdence there for 7 months. He surprises me everyday with what he has learned, and how far he has come. He will be moving on into the actual program in two weeks (after he turns 3), to which he is adjusting to the transition beautifully. The principle and the teachers believe in working closly together with parents to develop the WHOLE child, and that is also very important/impressive to me.
