Kemptown Elementary School

We chose to move into Frederick County and the Urbana feeder program after disappointment with Montgomery Co schools. Don't be fooled by all the "greatness" MCPS brags about; test scores are only part of developing a child's life. Academics, character and well rounded arts and phys ed are outstanding at Kemptown. The school has excellent teachers who make sure kids are challenged and acedemics are outstanding. Test scores on the MSAs are fantastic. I can assure you there are many schools who do not incorporate character education in their curriculum, but Kemptown does and incororates it daily in their lessons. Teachers and staff always give that extra effort to the students, and we really appreciate it! Monrovia is the best kept secret in the area. If you want to get back to basics and insure your child has an excellent experience and education, this is the community for you.

We moved to this area specifically for the school district. We were not dissapointed! The level of academia coupled with involved, educated teachers and parents makes this school a great foundation for further education. The school has extensive parent involvement and is welcoming to any thoughts and ideas from parents. My daughters feel safe and secure in the school and both have excelled academically. My husband and I can't say enough good things about Kemptown Elementary. We know we'll never move out of the district while our children are of school age. Kemptown participates in many academic and cultural arts programs both at a community and state level. The teachers are warm and caring and truly gifted. Kemptown has found a way to make learning fun and curious for the children. Both my children excel in reading and mathmatics. The school continues to score highly on mandated state wide testing.
