What a wonderful experience this school was for our children who attended this school for 4 years each! Both were well prepared as they entered public schools. We sure miss the care and attention of the wonderful teachers and staff at VMS.
I have two children that completed 4 years each through Kindergarten at Village Montessori and all I have to say is WOW! The experiecne they had there was fantastic! Village Montessori offered them a loving, nurturing environment as well as a thorough Montessori curriculum. They have both moved on to other schools now and are thriving academically and I attribute their success to the early learning that they both received at Village Montessori School. I highly recommend this school!
After 25 years and thousands of students taught, this educational institution s reputation remains stellar to those having experienced it. Over 10 years I have had 5 grandchildren and a nephew matriculate through the Village Montessori School with outstanding results. Letters cover the walls expressing the gratitude of parents and even of students who have gone on to become doctors, lawyers and successful business people. If you are looking for an exceptional head start for your child I strongly recommend the Village Montessori School. You will not be disappointed.
My husband and I enrolled our two kids in VMS. The teachers did an outstanding job with our daughter who excelled and passed 1 and 2nd grade tests from there. When we enrolled her into public school, they would not accept her test grades, and had to repeat 1st grade. She is in the highest educational groups in her school today. VMS challenaged and allowed our children to grow and learn at their speed. We are VERY happy with VMS and love seeing our son excel there today. If the school offerred higher grade levels, we would have kept our kids there. Thank you VMS for providing our kids with the best education foundation for a brighter future.
Village Montessori is an excellent institution with top-notch staff and faculty, which understands the delicate balance between academic rigor, discipline, and positive social interaction. I am a progeny of this institution and can say without hesitation that this type of development early on has a profound impact on how my academic and professional career developed. The work ethic at this Montessori has never dwindled and the team has prided themselves on a tradition that has always put students ahead of the curve. I couldn't have imagined my life any differently, and I am forever grateful.
Teachers are indifferent and at times rude. They always behaved as if they are doing you a favour. Did not like the school right from the beginning. Administration is terrible. Its like a family business. The only positive thing I see from this experience is that you and your kid might become a little prepared for such situations in the the future.
After sending our 3 children to Village Montessori, I am delighted to express our gratitude to the owners and teaching staff of this excellent educational facility. We chose VMS very carefully knowing the early years of our childrens education would be the most critical and we were not disappointed, in fact, our expectations were exceeded. The intention was to use VMS for pre-school and kindergarten, however, after seeing the progress that was being made, all three continued on through the 2nd grade. The end result: two of our daughters are now adults and one just graduated from Goshen Elementary achieving every academic honor available. The owner, Pat Aubin, has been educating children using the Montessori method for decades. Her commitment to providing a very safe environment and her passion for educational excellence leave no choice but to recommend Village Montessori School to anyone seeking a head start and the best in education for their child.
We have three children who have gone to school at Village Montessori. Two have gone on to public school and one is still there in pre-K. Our oldest is now in third grade. He reads at a fifth grade level and is doing fourth and fifth grade level math work. We have a first grader who is also reading and doing math above grade level. Our youngest is four and a half and has been reading for nearly a year now. She too does well with math. We could not be happier with the solid education and life skills our children have received at Village Montessori.
I sent my daughter to VMS for two years and she absolutely loved this school! I found the staff to be very friendly, understanding and helpful and my daughter learned a great deal from here. She is now in public school and is excelling in reading and math and I have to really hand it to her previous teacher at VMS for teaching her so well.
Village Montessori is a great school for kids 4 and under and I would recommend it if you are looking for a safe and friendly environment for your child. However, in my opinion and experience the public schools and some other private montessori schools in the area offer a better education at the grades K and beyond. The education beyond the age of 4 or pre-k is not comparable to other montessori schools in the area or public schools for that matter. Best described as a great daycare with a montessori approach.
An emphasis just does not seem to be placed on education. They seem to be out of school more often than they are in. I agree with the listing of Jan 7, 2010. There just is not enough one-on-one time. My efforts at home frequently superceed what the school is able to accomplish. The environment is friendly, the teachers are pleasant. If I had to do it all over again however, I would look further.
This school has dampen our hopes for a good education, they combine classes KG, G1 and G2, (which is montessori philosophy and ok) but they are always harried and pay little attention to children as they have limited time to spend on each child. There is no computer training or any advanced teaching method just antiquated decades old system. They teachers in this classroom have a head on the table as a means to punish and degrade students. One suffers more if you are in the middle of the school year as it is awfully hard to transfer. Please do your due diligence and do not ruin your childs crucial years in this environment.
