A wonderful small town school in Frederick, MD. A safe neighborhood, amazing staff and teachers, older but VERY clean building, and active parent volunteers all contribute to the success of the students, and the school's scores.

This is the best school for a successful education. The teachers are Class A and the community promotes education to the fullest. I will never regret moving to this community.

The community here is terrible and not supportive. The curriculum is too focused on getting the kids to do well on standardized tests.

Small, warm, friendly school, very supportive community, tenured teachers who know the children well. Adminstrators are attentive and available.

Friendly, beautiful setting, many kind teachers who for the most part know their subject matter well. Safe with many very nice children.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Maryland used the Maryland School Assessment (MSA) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in reading and math, and grades 5 and 8 in science. The MSA is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Maryland.
