Piccowaxen was a great school for me. Bullying wasn't a problem in my later years here. I talked to the students in 6th grade regularly to hopefully make them feel comfortable. However the the school has its flaws. The staff are not the best, especially the vice principle. (I don't know about the new principle since I left before the new one came) If your just starting school and in 6th grade, theres nothing to worry about unless your asking for it. Most of the 7th/8th graders are nice though. The test scores are very high. The school is also small, yet it isn't overcrowded. Only 400~ students. The classes are not divided by concrete walls though, so you will hear other teachers talking. The technology is dated. Still has Windows XP and a terrible networks. Thats more of the entire school system though. The teachers are friendly. No problems with any of my teachers. And lastly the school enforces rules a bit too heavily. You get in serious trouble for the littlest of things. Piccowaxen is one of the best middle schools in the county.

I tranferred schools because bullying runs rampant through the school. I was a victim there and not that much was done. I was there in 2011 2012 for 6th grade.

The administration here is getting better with the replacement of the vice principal this school year. Now, if CCBOE would just do something about the principal as well. School has little tolerance for even the slightest misbehavior. I have been called for student clicking flip flops too loudly down the hallway, for gum chewing at 220 at locker preparing to leave for the day. Students are targeted and over scrutinized once you get even minor infractions, yet others with similar behaviors and actions are overlooked. Punishments don't seem to fit the act and suspensions are handed out as a first resort rather than a last. Very pleased with academic scores at school as a whole.

I have had nothing but problems with the administration at this school. The teachers are excellent for the most part, but the lack of a caring from the adminstrtion makes the school difficult to deal with as a parent.

What an aweseome school!. My son recently started the 6th grade and I cannot tell you how impressed I am with the staff and teachers. I love the small class sizes and the enthusiam for the students. I am also very impressed with the Positive Behavioral program as well. There is several opprunitites for kids to get involved in various clubs and activities.

best school ever!!! It may be small but small schools are better for the kids because then they know all the teachers and most of the students! So they can get one on one haelp from the teachers!!

i love this school. The teachers have tought me so much. Since its a smaller school the teachers give the special attention to the certain kids that need it. i am an 8th grader and this is my last year. i will get promoted in 2009. there is no fights and is very very safe. the grades of the kids are very good. although we are in the middle of nowhere the teachers are like you are being tought by a college professor. i love this school and am very sad to be leaving in june.

I love this school! I think it is a safe enviornment compared to some other schools. The teachers are great and always have a smile on their face no matter the day. Mr. Shroeck and Mrs. Coffren are the best and I hope other students like this school as much as I do!

Excellent school. My daughter attended this school for 8th grade and I was very pleased. Some teachers were just o.k. but most of the teachers were great.
