NEHS overall is a good school. They have good accerlated programs and the teachers are really good, so far from my experince from the past two years. However, the way they handle the Athletics is below respectable. Its obvious that there isn't much care in this area. If your child is a strong athlete, I would reconsider.

Overall, the school itself is pretty good. It will be great when the renovations are done. The school board regulations is anouther story. I certainly don't won't my child to grow up with the many excuses the school has about suspending students or gving the studnets an MIP (in school suspension)This is the reason many young people drop out of school to get a GED. The students feel as if they are in jail. No student is treated as an individual. They are all treated as the worst student from the past. Great pleasure will be felt when your child graduates from school

I'd have to say that NEHS isn't as bad as people make it seem. It's so easy to find your classes, with the general layout of the school. Teachers are great, and students are just alright, there's a few delinquents, but every school has that. Things keep getting better, students just need to stop thinking materialistic. It's not about the look of the school, it's the education you get in it. And i'd have to say the education is fine.

I couldn't possibly give any stars for this school! I substitute teach there and it's a terrible environment for students. There isn't enough books for all the students, and some classes (such as Fresh) don't even have books for the class.

Although I am not a parent of a student attending North East High School, I am a product of the school who had a weighted GPA of 4.21. This high school has a diminishing quality of academics. Therefore, I decided to go to Cecil Community College for my senior year to rack up credits. I was able to graduate with 28 credit hours. I hope my experience will give someone else insight to the reality of the acclaimed 'great academic quality' that the Cecil County School System brags.

North East High School, North East, MD. is a very active environment. I am the Grand Father of a 15 yr. old Freshman. She plays four sports, is a Honor Society Student, has lots of great friend. Clearly the new Principle has made a difference. What I see is the Students who have parental support clearly are more successful.

Norty East High is a school with so many different backgrounds. The violence is pretty bad. This school was steps away from being declared unsafe. A new principal was brought in and it has become a little better. Some reports of violence are not being reported though. The kids that are a part of the fighting are football players, skateboarders, bookworms, almost every type of kid has their moments. The violence is not from one specific group of kids. The mentality is one of a very roughneck group. The staff seems to be split in half. They either get along with the majority of the kids and can get through to them or they are hated by all.The buses are very scarry, kids are completely out of control.
