This is a WONDERFUL school! My daughter started attending this school midway through the year. She was attending Broadford, but i was unsatisfied with the teaching methods. After starting this school she has already learned to write, spell, and read!! I am so proud of her accomplishments at her new school!!

My son goes to this school, and my daughter is starting this year. I have nothing but praise for the school and staff. They do an excellent job of encouraging students while holding them to a high standard. The principal is excellent. I believe that he knows all of the parents and their children. He is always visible in the school. I would definitely recommend Yough Glades Elementary to any parent.

I have two children in this school. One of which has aspergers syndrome and one that is extremly ADHD and I have to say this is the best elementary school I have ever come across. The staff is top rate and the Principal is the most wonder person, the school works with each student and are true believers in 'no child left behing'. If you are moving to Garrett County I suggest you find a home in this school district I promise you will not be disappointed. I have delt with two other school in this county and none is better that yough.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Maryland used the Maryland School Assessment (MSA) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in reading and math, and grades 5 and 8 in science. The MSA is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Maryland.
