I am about to enter arundel, and I have heard great things about the school, and that the rumors are untrue. But, I have also encountered complaints about it, about a couple of rude staff members and them not caring about complaints. But let's be real, there are going to be rude teachers at every school, and there is going to be strict staff members. I am very excited to enter the school district of arundel, I am sure I will have a great experience.
Arundel is a decent school. However, the teachers and admins are rather carefree of student behavior and some of the rules are downright unfair. Also, more so than usual, subs are rather ignorant of what the teachers they are filling in for actually do. Some teachers are great, but most have at least one major flaw. Assistant teachers also seem to be rather self-empowering and sometimes downright rude.
This school is......ok. As a student, although some teachers are amazing, I think that most of the teachers have poor attitudes to the education of the students and to the students themselves. The school is unresponsive towards student and parent complaints, at least from my experience, and some of the rules are extremely unfair. There are a couple teachers who either push the students too hard, demand too much, hate the students, are completely ignorant, or who are bad at teaching. The principal is great, but one great staff member, even the principal, is not enough to turn the entire school around. This school manages to teach you things, but overall I would not recommend it. The learning experience is not that good, and I feel that the people who think Arundel is great are those who have not encountered the problems that I have, those that do not have those poor teachers, and those that have not had to go to the school with complaints - only to find that the staff doesn't really care and won't really help you. This school definitely needs improving.
The transition to middle school could not have been easier. My child and I love the wonderful teachers and staff at Arundel Middle!

Arundel Middle School has a great principal and assistant principals whose primary concern is the education of the children. The teachers are supportive and proactive with the students. I am the mother of a sixth grader and am completely impressed by Arundel Middle.

I just graduated from this school. It's all right, not too great, not too horrible.

Arundel is a decent school. There are poor teachers and an even worse extracurricular program. The principal, Mr. Strickler, is a great.

The facilities desperately need updating, the teacher's attitudes are poor, parent involvement is nil, but the principal really does care about the school and strives to make it one of the best in the county. The drama program with the high school is phenomenal.

My daughters science class has 39 students and if you ask me that's too much. Good teachers though, not very well disciplined. Overall 4 stars. Dr. Strickler is a great principal.

My daughter came into this school with learning disabilities, but her Elementary school was able to get her reading level up to just one year behind her peers. After just two years at Arundel Middle she is now reading three years behind, she has made no progress even though she is in co-taught classrooms. I am very disappointed with this schools Special Education Department.

As a Math teacher at this school, I can say that this school is wonderful! Under the leadership of its new principal, Dr. Paul Strickler, the school is almost as well run as some private schools I have seen. Dr. Strickler manages with a firm hand. He clearly outlines his expectations for students and teachers and administers reward and punishment fairly and consistently. He is a man of high energy and can always be seen roaming the halls in between classes with his walkie talkie checking on classes and common areas. The school met its objectives for Reading and Math in the last year and is pushing hard to continue improving. As a teacher I am excited about the coming year. My colleagues are dedicated and hard working and we share the vision of Dr. Strickler and Dr. Smith.

This school has improved under the leadership of its present principal. It has an active PTA who's goals include Parent Involvement. This school has a faculty that is very dedicated and will work with parents to help their children to succeed.

I am concerned about the sizes of the classes - teacher to student ratio seemed to be rather high in the sixth grade classes last year. I also have concerns regarding the lack of control that goes on with the students. Although the administration claims to have taken the bull by the horns, the students roam around the halls during classes and I don't particularly care for the disruption caused to classes in session because of that.
