Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

I am totally amazed at the outstanding atmosphere here! Students are engaged in learning, Teachers are motivating and relevant, and the Administration does an awesome job involving the community Northeast is the BEST! My eldest graduated and is going to college and employed at a very good corporate level position at 24, the 2nd daughter just graduated with Honors. School spirit is High and the brand new renovation has made the campus look like a college. New everything! Technology, Sports, Music, Theatre, Academics all are A+++ It's only gotten better from the oldest to now the youngest of my 3 attending. They love their school and friends.

NEHS breeds bullies. Teachers find it challenging to teach because the students control the classroom. I have volunteered in GFMS (Middle) and been a shadow on NEHS due to students making it impossible to learn. I shadowed my kids on more than a few occasions, and I can understand why the teachers are challenged to share knowledge. The synergy from the students negative behavior is clearly visible. As a patent I feel the peer pressure when I am in school... As if the kids in the school are like hawks waiting to devour prey! If you can enroll your child in a different school, I would highly recommend that you do that... U less you can keep you child from wanting friends. Friends at this school come at a cost! Past years have caused a police officer to act on instincts die to behavioral issues! Fire alarms being pulled as pranks, and kids stealing from each other. Good luck to kids and teachers at this school... I can't wait to get my daughter out! Just a parent who is tying to raise good Chinese hard working citizens in our country... This school makes it tough...

The administrator doesn't put up with kids that are problems to other kids. Probably the case here...so a parent goes off and vents about her being rude. I've seen some rude parents come in and expect their kid to get special treatment when they've done something wrong. That's not going to happen. The Principle and Administrators will do whats right; even if a parent is unhappy. Sorry. I worked in the office my Senior Year 08 and that's what it is!

Northeast~Go Eagles!! Has a smaller campus, with great spirit! 58 Million Dollars worth of Rennovations are underway: State of the Art black box theatre was just completed for Drama and Dance. Science, English Depts, and new technology being added; new Audio Visual Department and library updating. The Athletic Dept. is getting a new Astroturf field and entire new stadium with new benchs and all! The sports, drama club, dance club and music department are already great and here they're fantastic! The Art teachers are so motivating! The music teacher graduated from Chesapeake High, a local Pasadena school that is also known for their great Music Teacher! The NSA connection here is a great program that is beneficial to schools in AA County. There is a work study program you can start in JR Year! A new two level cafeteria is so cool! All better for making it more exciting for the kids to have a superior lounge and cafe' at their school. Parent involvement is good, and those that are the kids benefit! Can't wait to see where this school is in a few years...

This is my senior year at NHS. I absolutely love it. We are one of the most close knit schools around and is more like a family. They have great teachers who truely care about their students and there isnt much violence like the other schools around. I will miss it soo much.

The school registrar at Northeast High is a very rude and disrespectful person. Her attitude and demeanor was not only unprofessional but unacceptable when I called with concerns regarding my child. Not only was she rude and disrespectful to me but also to another school official calling on my behalf to clarify a few questions. This concerns me if she feels she can talk to a parent and a professional of her peers in that manner, I wonder how she treats our children!

My honest opinion: I am limited to 150 words; my original text was 420 words, so I am going to sum it up: if you send you students to Northeast, make sure they get into a class with Mrs. Kasper (English), Mrs. Braun (Math), Mrs. Gordon (Psychology), Mr. Green (Biology), and/ or Mrs. Watson (Spanish). These are the teachers that have made my High School career what it is, they are the best teachers this school has to offer. As a college student, I have realized that the education I have from Northeast trumps that of most students who went to private school. However, would I send my children there? No. I would not. I would not send them to private school over Northeast, but I would not send them to Northeast.

Guys if you are veiwing this to get inrolled into the school then goahead. I am not biased, i have been in seven different anne arundel schools and the best one out of all of them is this school North East High School. Parents your kids will be happy here and you wouldent have to worry about them because it is a drug free school and the teachers take care of the students for their grades. Every other person is a sport jawk and therefore they are educated and well mannered. There is nothing like peer pressure, bullying in this school. High standard people are enrolled here and you would love to come here.!!!!!!I am currently a senior here and i loved my four years, in addition to that i think i will miss it so much that i will come back as a teacher here since that is my major.

I love this school and everyone in it. I am a sophomore at NHS and I cant wait for the next two to come. Th teachers and students here are amazing. All these rumors going around about NHS being a terrible school are not true. If it was how would all our HSA scores be beating all the state averages? Dont hate on NHS just because your school isnt that hot. If your child is failing thats thier fault. All of the teachers here explains everything very well. Its your childs fault for not paying attention. Dont blame the school blame your child and start being a better parent.

This is a great school. I don't know what those other post are talking about. I have learned so much in my years at NHS. One review says the teachers let the students make mistakes and when the parents find out its to late!? Well isnt that life? This school makes adults. They help students on thier way to a better future. You need to make mistakes to correct them. I give this school a 4 star because other then that the school is too old for the mass amount of students. It needs to be re made for those to come.

My son is graduating this year. It has been a long struggle but we finally got there. The reason he is graduating is the caring teachers and counselors at this school. When he was behind, I received phone calls. His counselor worked with us to get him on track. When we moved here 4 years ago, my daughter started the school in her junior year. For transitioning from one school to another that late in life, she did very well and I have the staff, students and community to thank for that. NEHS is a great school as far as I'm concerned.

I only wish that those schools that are also in the vicinity (CHS/SPHS, etc.) knew how amazing and dedicated the teachers are at this school. I recieved a great education, and am now currently at one of the top universities in the country. The students are great and genuinely care about their peers and community. The rumors that are surrounding the school and its system and students are exactly that.. rumors. These rumors are hurting the potential and reviews of the school. I loved my time at NHS, and wouldn't change it to go anywhere else.

I'm in my Senior year at NHS and I have to say that this school is better than most I've seen. The teachers listen and understand where we come from. The principal Mrs. Kathy Kubic is also wonderful. She always has nice ideas and plans for NHS. This school has improved academic-wise as well as attendence-wise.

I graduated from ne in 1978 and I now have a son going to this school. It's been the best thing that I ever did was to move back down in the area. He has learned so much. The teachers are the best and the guidance counslers are wonderful.

My wife graduated from NE High in 1973. We have had all three of our sons enrolled at NE High between the years of 1993 and 2005, the youngest of which will graduate from NE High in 2005. All three of our sons have graduated with a weighted GPA in excess of 4.0. Since settling into the Pasadena area, I have heard alot of 'stories' about Northeast (ie: rough school, lacking program, etc...) and I can assure you that they are all just rumors. I have found the administrators and teachers of Northeast to be very dedicated and caring. I have also found that the parents lend strong support to it's programs. In my opinion, the only item lacking at Northeast is the amount of financial support given it by the County.

I would just like to say that this school has had an extremely positive effect on my child. He has learned so much from all of the teachers and made many new friends. I was very surprised when he came home with his first report card. I was expecting to find many C's, because up untill he went there, those were the only grades he had gotten except for a few B's. Instead I found it filled with all A's and B's. I was very proud of him! He told me he enjoys comming to school more then he ever did before.

The teachers are bad and forget about 'the home/school connection'. They don't communicate well with the parents when students aren't doing well. They feel its the students place to make sure they are doing well. By the time the parent finds out, its too late! I'm considering home schooling my children to avoid future problems!
