My two sons transferred to Chapel Hill Elementary these year, one is in the kindergarten and the other third grade. I am extremely impressed with the staff and curricula taught. My sons really like to school and have been able to transition well, especially my son in the third grade. They feel welcome by both teachers and their peers.
Any tips of "the best" teachers...especially for Kindergarten and First Grade? My daughter is starting at Chapel Hill in the Fall. Thanks!
Excellent School! Could not ask for anything better! I have one child currently attending and plan to have 2 more in the future!
This school is pretty nice, although, the teachers (when it doesn't have anything to do with academics) will just go with the flow and not pay any attention to the kids behavior. But everything else is very good.
Not very sure about this school. My son's teacher seems very impersonal and just goes through the motion. Cannot speak for other teachers. School needs a lot of renovation. School management seems to be very responsive. Overall, i would give this school a good score.
Husband went to Chapel Hill when he was a kid. Now my two oldest go there and we love it. Could not ask for better teachers and staff.
Very basic school. Student teacher ratio is still too high. Not enough attention paid to children individually. Extra curricular activities are limited. Insufficien stimulation for students interested in arts, music, theatre. School is in need of serious repairs and upgrade.
We recently moved from a private school to Chapel Hill Elementary. I have been very impressed with both the curriculum for third grade and the quality of the staff. They immediately learned my children's names and made them feel at home. Having been a teacher myself I can say we are very happy here and appreciate the cultural diversity amongst the students! Also, a new elementary school was built nearby so the school is no longer overcrowded, now around 500 students!
Excellent School,my kids are in kindergarten and second grade and love they school. Teachers are excellent and very involved with the kids.Great parental involvement and participation, but over-crowded
Teachers are committed to students, but over crowded conditions exist without solid improvement plan.
My child started kindergarten this year and we had quite an adjustment period. The school counselor was wonderful, pro-active and receptive to the quiverings of a new kindergarten Mom (me)! I would have liked more encouragement from the teacher (for me and my child), but the guidance counselor made up for it. My child has now fully adjusted and looks forward to going to school every day! The PTA is wonderful, full of encouragement and wonderful opportunities to participate. The parents that I have come into contact with through the PTA have been very supportive to me. I do have concerns about the level of over-crowding; although the teachers and support staff seem to have a grasp on being attentive to every child...time will tell.
I have two children attending Chapel Hill, 1st & 3rd grades.Ihave no complaints about the school or the staff and I have no concerns in regards to sending my children there, I know that they are getting the best education that they can there. But...my only gripe is the over crowding and the lack of space outside the school in which to park for any type of extracurricular activities that we all attend. The amount of new home construction in this area is overwhelming our neighborhood schools, and this concern really needs to be addressed.
Excellent school!! Youngest child just moved on to middle school and I know they are well prepared for whatever assignments they are given in the next grade. The administrators, teachers and parents all have the same goals of the best education for the students. The curriculm is challenging and the teachers are wonderful.
Chapel Hill is an over all good school. I have had children in the school, with no problems, and I've had children with unbelievable problems. If your child is 'average' you'll do fine, if your child is slightly gifted, you may also be fine. If you should have a child with learning disabilities, you're going to be in for an education youself! Be tough, be strong for your child, and most of all do all the research you can to find out what your childs rights are, and don't let anyone take them away, either through actions or inactions. Push the school to do the right the thing!
I have two children entering kindergarden and second grade this year. So far I have been pleased with Chapel Hill, especially with the way that the teachers relate to the children. Add to that lots of in school activities and fun classwork and you get children who want to learn.
Excellent school. My children have been attending there for going on 3 years and have improved 100% since. The teachers and staff work with them very well, and care!
