Low security. Anyone can walk in the front door which opens to the main hall ...busy with the ptter patter of little feet. Be nice to add a set of enterior doors and buzz people in once identified. Pocomoke is not exactually a low crime area.

Moving to a new area I was excited to learn the overall great impression the test scores give the school. I have children that were in 3rd grade and Pre-K. My child in Pre-K came home with scratches so I questioned his teacher about the incidents. The teacher became upset that I was questioning her and became irate. This was shocking and upsetting considering the teacher is teaching my child half a day! We met with the principal and teacher about the incident where the teacher actually walked out in the middle of the meeting angry!! My husband and I were in GREAT SHOCK to learn the teacher shows this type of behavior even in front of her boss! We later found out her husband is part of the school board so her behavior is excusable! My childs 3rd grade teacher was excellent!! Communicated well with parents and loved her possition and it showed! Overall I would recommend looking at the school from all points, not just test scores. A teacher must have a passion to teach and I feel my childs Pre-K teacher did not, but that is not the case for all the teachers at the school. There are some great teachers!

As a first time parent and very nervous about sending my son to school I am extremely satisfied with Pocomoke Elementary!! My son is in Pre-K this year and looks forward to going everyday!! The parent teacher involvement has been wonderful and so caring. I look forward to more years at P.E.S.

I completely agree with the June 2005 review. Several teachers work very hard to ensure the after school activites are a success. The Librarian is exceptional, and you can tell she really cares about the students. In my opinion, the same students always have the lead in the Choir productions. I will be very sad when my daughter leaves the school. Our middle school cannot compare to the quality of the elementary school. The pre-K program is superb, I just wish a lot of parents would let PES continue on with their child's education instead of moving their children to private school.

My son just finished his pre-k year in school. I have been so impressed with PES. The kids are all valued and loved. The teachers, for the most part, are very kind and professional. The level of technology is amazing. Parental involvement is encouraged. I felt comfortable with the whole staff(bus drivers included!). The school nurse is incredible. Great little school! There is not a school within 20 miles that can compare with the teachers and the resources available to the kids!
