The employees care about the children and give them the best enivironment possible in which to learn and grow academically and socially.
My two children have attended Ridge and one currently still does, and I have to disagree with some of the opinions of the staff. The teachers - for the most part - are great, very caring. My daughter loves her 1st grade teacher. But the principal is hardly involved, and seems more interested in her image than any student. The secretary in the front office is always unfriendly, rude, and makes parents feel like intrtuders. If the teachers ran the school, great, five stars. But the administration..no way.
My daughter has attended Ridge for K-1st. We have both loved this school. The small class size makes this feel like a home away from home. The curriculum seems to be very balanced. Just the right amount of homework to support classroom work. I've seen great parental involvement, and the staff really care about the kids.
I am so pleased to have our principal Sandra Kerner she is a great principal and has great leadership and the students are pleased to have her in our school . we also have qualified teachers who go that extra mile for the students. We also have a few new teachers as well as new concepts for teaching . Our cafeteria has excellent staff and are very appreciated for a job well done. Parenta also want to thank the Board of County Commissioners and our Governor for all the funding given to improve the school.
I am pleased with the way that the school is attentive enough to the students to recognize problems areas with speech and reading before they become a problem. My son had trouble pronoucing some sounds and his teacher and principle took the time to get him the extra time he needed to get on track and now he is up with the rest of the class ready to go the next grade.
