NCHS is currently in the process of becoming a certified Maryland Green School. The school has a safe environment, great and involved teachers, is overall wonderful.

My knowledge of this school is based on one visit on March 4, 2008. Ms. Beverly Ward, the senior guidance counselor is an exceptional individual who is a hidden gem in rural Caroline county. I visited on a spontaneous recruiting trip, and she cleared her schedule to meet with me and immediately connected me with a high quality applicant. Urban, ineffective schools would not offer such transparency to a stranger. But this community did. As a result, I will be aggressively working on helping at least one of their students gain either admittance to a top 25 school or a full merit scholarship to a school consistent with the student's Christian values. This guidance counselor and this school did more to help me and one of its students in 2 hours than the DC and Prince George's County schools that I visit accomplish in 2 weeks.

North Caroline High School is overall a great environment for students to be in. The teachers are available for extended periods of time after school and the school provides an excessive amount of after school clubs and sports. The strongest section of the school has to be the social studies department. They know their material extremely well. The weakest part of the school has to be the mathematics department. I can only think of one teacher who teaches the subjects well. The school does a good job of keeping things interesting. You'll notice the floors are sometimes dirty because of the limited janitors, but it's not a big issue. Overall good education. Class of 2008!
