CES is an absolutely terrific school. A wonderful combination of providing a challenging environment for the kids to learn but in a comfortable, caring and loving environment. Our kids have flourished here. The new head of school has made some tremendous improvements over the last year and this school is just doing wonders!
What an amazing place! We started here a few years back and admittedly there were some difficult times as administration had to make some difficult decisions. Even though it's hard to see teachers leave the community, it's often necessary for the betterment of the school. CES is now FULL of amazing, well-trained teachers who take great care of the children everyday. They are so kind and really listen to parents' concerns. The administration are full of educators, not business people trying to make a buck off of children. Their knowledge of what the children need are paramount to the overall experience. If you live in Montgomery County and want a safe school with the best teachers, call CES right now.
I went to this school for 5 years, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. The staff is really welcoming, and the academics are rigorous. They teach extremely good morales at CES, which definately comes in handy later in life. I have met some of my best friends through this school, HOWEVER, these past few years, things haven't really been going great, as many students are leaving, opting for bigger, more diverse environments (Lack of diversity is definately a big problem). Also, administration isn't as good as it used to be. A few members of the staff were unqualified when I went there, but I believe they have fixed this problem since then. The sports are programs are good, not great, but good. So overall, it's going to need some work, but in time, it will once again become the great CES we all knew and loved.
I've been very pleased with Christ Episcopal School. My son has been there for 3 years and has gotten a great education. The teachers are nuturing and help each child reach their potential. The children at the school from all grades support each other through the chapel partner program and other activities. The kids really are confident and are reinforced through good values. The community of the school is very supportive. Definitely a good school.
Christ Episcopal School is a GEM of a school. Steeped in wonderful traditions, this school has a WONDERFUL preschool which is housed in a fabulous private home on it school campus. The teachers are creative and enthusiastic with years of teaching experience. The families in this preschool are very lucky to begin their educational journey with such loving and experienced guides!
As a discriminating parent of a first grader, Christ Episcopal School is simply terrific. Although emphasis on rigorous academics produces high student achievement, it is the school s community that makes it such a special learning environment. After visiting a classroom building, one can only come away with a smile at seeing and hearing such enthusiasm and commitment. Christ Episcopal School in run, thank to the leadership of its headmistress, to serve the needs of its students not the faculty. Parents are encouraged to participate in their child s education and are kept well informed on how and what their child is doing at school. If you are looking for a school that offers a safe, caring and nurturing environment, combined with high academic standards, check out Christ Episcopal School. You will find a special place that will give your child a rock solid foundation for a future of social and academic success.
Christ Episcopal School offers a curriculum that is particularly strong in language, literature, and humanities. The class size is small, enabling interactive classroom discussion involving all students. There are consequences, in addition to a lower grade, for incomplete homework. If an assignment is incomplete, the student must sign a 'missing homework' classroom log book. If the student has three missing assignments, parents are notified. Prior to the 7th grade, the daily homework assignments are placed on a website, so parents are able to view present and future assignments. The school truly strives toward building the organizational skills of all students. In this small school, there is no Band and there are limited athletic teams. There is a wonderful focus on theater with annual productions of both a 7th grade musical and an 8th grade Shakespeare performance. Parent involvement is strong, but Parent Association meetings scheduled at 8:30AM may limit organizational participation.
What a wonderful school! The teachers really enjoy the students and they work hard to make sure each and every student is a special part of the school. The parents are friendly and open to all. My children have attended CES for nine years and I will miss everyone when we leave.
