Salisbury Middle School

Excellent staff here, this school is in a terrible, gang infested area yet the teachers, staff and administrators excel at providing a safe and educational environment for our kids. Only wish they had metal detectors in Wicomico County school system..... TERRIFIC teachers, have my last child there this year and we have been very happy with most everything there for the past 6 years now. Principal Amy Eskridge is one who knows every student in that building by their name! She has really turned that school around :)

My grandson is a 8th grade student at Salisbury Middle School. His motivation towards learning has increased each year since entering SMS. He has maintained a zest for learning and loves to go to school. This, I am sure, is due in no small part to the dynamic, professional teachers at SMS.

SMS is a great school. i love it. the teachers are so great. there are great people and the best staff EVER! sms ruless! We have school spirit everywhere we go on field trips, but thats just because we all love our school.

Salisbury Middle is a GREAT school.From the staff to the students it's a wonderful environment.The change of principal was hard at first but then you got over it.SMS has a great (Girls and Boys)Basketball team which right now the girls are undefeated. The classes are interesting and the teachers make it that way.SMS keep on ROCKING and this year WE ARE GOING TO FINISH ON TOP! We are always going to have haters but the quickly fade away and to the school that i love.I'm going to miss it nest year as i go on to high school but i'll always be an eagle.SMS is the school to be!

MY EXPERIENCE and FEELING: If you are a white supremicist this is the school for you and your children. It is full of administrators who use politically correct jargon while pointing to policys and 'what should be done' and holding students to high standards, while they exhibit maladjusted personalities, low-self esteem and (closet as well as overt) racisim. The few blacks that are not janitor's are nothing more than house slaves happy to have receive their wages and state benefits while serving whatever the racist admins dictate and diservicing growing youth. If anyone not on payroll with the state differs I anxiously to hear YOUR expereinces

SMS is one of the best middle schools that I have ever seen and been involved with. I have never seen a staff care about the students on such a level as the staff at SMS. I loved it the first time I went there for and interview. Wonderful school, excellent staff members. SMS is the best! Anonymous

My daughter has been at Salisbury Middle for two years now. She is always excited about what she is learning and has lots to tell us about her teachers and the activities that they participate in. History has come alive for her. Math is a challenge but her teacher explains it in a way that she understands easily. Reading and Language are presented in an appealing and contextual manner so that it is more than just book learning. As a family we are very happy with the quality of teaching and care that she has received at this school.

I have to say that the administration is on top of things, cares about the student body, and is great overall. Although there are a few 'nuts' in the mix most of the teachers at SMS are very good. When it comes to extracurriculars no other Middle school in the area comes close; From The Footbal, Basketball, and Track teams to Drama and Destination Imagination this school has it all. As for Parent involvement the PTA is very active but a few more dances would have been nice =) In The Safety catagory it has improved vastly over the 3 years I attended. In 6th grade there was a hallway fight once or twice a week and the ocasional assult, but by my 8th grade year (2005) there was hardly any of that. The overall quality of the school is very good and I am proud to be an Alum.
