Jones Elementary School

Jones is a great school, if it were a perfect world! Since the world is more diverse and requires interpersonal skills to deal with an increasing diverse world, it delays growth in this area. But, other than that, I feel it is a good school and my daughter enjoys it!

Jones has a caring, welcoming staff. Teachers strive to help everyone child. There is a lot of parent involvement!

The principal is wonderful, a great leader of a wonderful team of teachers. They make sure that ALL kids get the what they need, whether it's some help to catch up or more challenges. There's also a wonderful feeling of community there, because so many families are very active, being involved in the classroom and with extracurricular activities.

Jones is a public school that behaves like a top tier private academy. Students are held to a high standard and the staff take the time to know each child and their capabilities. However, like most top tier private institutions this school lacks both ethnic and economic diversity and as a result the students are not provided a education that enables them to fully understand and work within an increasingly diverse society. It is important to note that Severna Park is not a diverse area and so the entire district suffers this ill.

Jones is a great small school. Staff is exceptional and very student-focused. The principal and staff have always been readily available to us to address any questions/concerns quickly and professionally. One of the best schools in Anne Arundel County!

Staff and faculty are great. There is a rigidity to the administration that is surprising. Students are often disrespectful to teachers without consequence. High expectations of performance in testing but not behavior. Bullying of students who have differences is often overlooked.
