I believe the school does a fabulous job! I have a student currently in 4th grade and my child has had the opportunity to experience all three of the teachers. All three teachers do a fabulous job! My experience with all Forcey staff members has been great. They are all very attentive and care deeply about the well-being of the students.
This school would be so much better if the teachers with poor performance records got the boot. I'm thinking of a 4th grade teacher, who does not do well with children. No inspiration to teach and no interest in your child's performance. She just collects a pay check. If your child is on his or her way to the 4th grade, and you happen to get this teacher, hire a tutor immediately! You will know this teacher because your child will never have homework.
My child just completed his elementary level education @ Forcey and I have been satisfied with his 3rdand 4th grade teachers but not with his 5th grade teacher. I had a very unfortunate experience at practically the end of this school year. My son did not turn in a major assignment which was due in increments. The teacher alerted me 5 days after the due date for the "complete" project; when asked why I was not communicated with sooner like after the instalments were missing I got no answer. I tried to see the principal but got the brush. That teacher needs retraining how to engage children to get to the root of issues.
My daughter loves middle school! My elementary-aged son doesn't want to go anywhere else! That says it all. It is the best value I know of.
Beware of the second grade teacher who is truly incompetent. Just ask several parents in each second grade class and you will soon discover who this teacher is.
I really have confidence in my son's 1st grade teacher. He started at PreK. We have access to her via email or phone at anytime, and can get as involved as we wish to, so we know exactly what's going on.
The staff has instilled great values in my grandchildren's lives.
The best-kept secret in the MD Metro area! My son has been there since kindergarten and has excelled, even after being diagnosed ADHD. We found out at the end of 1st grade and his 1st grade teacher (Mrs. Manning - God's gift to any classroom!!!) actually chose what teacher he'd have the next year due to his problem areas. VERY individualized attention and top-notch leadership - Mr. Roussey is outstanding and shows such care for his kids! The academics are great, they have a diverse program that keeps the children interested and motivated. Extra-curricular activities are phenomenal - fine arts week, music, plenty of field trips, everything! And there're always parents around, volunteering and pitching in where needed. What can I say - the best principal, the best teachers, and the best families. All around the BEST school in this area (and I did my research before choosing them)!!!
My son has attended Forcey since 4-year nursery and loves it! He has been fortunate to have such wonderful teachers who truly love what they are doing and are great at it. The class sizes gives the students the right amount of attention and they do not give the students that feel that they are alone in their academics. The work that my son is doing in first grade is compared to work they are doing in second in the public schools! The Christian foundation is remarkable at Forcey. It reflects what my son is beign taught at home. Also the responsibility of the students having to memorize a bible verse every week is an excellent challenge for them. There is no other school I choose to send my son. Mr. Rousey is a fantastic at leadership and look forward to our remaining years at Forcey.
This is definatly the best school i know of. i highly recomend it as a first choice. you can really get to know your teachers personaly to since the classes are not to big. also, all of the teachers are very fair, and are always careful to listen to both sides of the story, so nobody gets punished for something they didn't do. the other children there are a great influence on You, and i know kids who have graduated as mature, well behaved kids. the teachers all know how to make learning fun, and have lots of positive rewards for being good, so kids are incouraged to be caught doing good instead of trying to be as bad a they can without being caught. there was lots of parent participation and that made things even MORE fun! this is the best school.
